I tunes .

iTunes is an application that allows the user to purchase and manage audio and video on a personal computer. Users can organize their music into playlists within one or more libraries, edit file information, copy files to a digital audio player, purchase music and videos through its built-in music store, and download free podcasts. There is also a large selection of free internet radio stations to listen to. I tunes is seen to be the most popular and successful way of buying the latest songs and albums. I believe that I tunes would be a good way to promote my music video because I tunes is used by millions and it would be a great way for the public to give our song and video a chance in today's music industry.

Spotify .

Spotify is a Swedish DRM-based music streaming service offering unlimited streaming of selected music from a range of major and independent record labels including Sony, EMI, Warner Music Group and Universal. You can become a member for free and listen to the latest music however you cannot download the music itself and you also have the change to pay for extra features. At the moment unsigned bands and solo artists do not yet appear on the website but I believe that if this was to happen then Spotify would become more successful and popular to everyone who is involved within the music industry.

MySpace. MySpace profiles for musicians in the website's MySpace Music section differ from normal profiles in allowing artists to upload their entire discographies consisting of MP3 songs. The uploader must have rights to use the songs for example their own work, permission granted. Unsigned musicians can also use MySpace to post and sell music using SNOCAP, which has proven popular among MySpace users.Shortly after MySpace was sold to Rupert Murdoch, the owner of Fox News and 20th Century Fox, in 2005, they launched their own record label, MySpace Records, in an effort to discover unknown talent currently on MySpace Music. Regardless of the artist already being famous or still looking for a break into the industry, artists can upload their songs onto MySpace and have access to millions of people on a daily basis. Some well known singers such as Lily Allen and Sean Kingston gained fame through MySpace. The availability of music on this website continues to develop, largely driven by young talent. Over eight million artists have been discovered by MySpace and many more continue to be discovered daily. In late 2007, the site launched The MySpace Transmissions, a series of live-in-studio recordings by well-known artists. As a popular music network I believe that MySpace is one of the best networks to use if you are an unsigned band wanting the general public to hear your talent . MySpace allows you to post your songs, videos whether they are recorded or live online for everyone to see and also everyone can post a comment in relation to your work . Overall I believe MySpace is the most committed networking site to music especially for those who are within the music criteria .

YouTube is a video-sharing website on which users can upload, share, and view videos, created by three former PayPal employees in February 2005. Unregistered users may watch videos, and registered users may upload an unlimited number of videos. Videos that are considered to contain potentially offensive content are available only to registered users 18 and older. The best thing about You tube is that anyone can upload their videos and you can upload multiple clips and share to millions of users what your interested in . I believe that you tube is one of the best choices for unsigned artists to publish their footage and songs online as the public are free to comment on your work and give praise or constructive criticism . It allows everyone to show their work off without having to pay or go through a long process.

Face book

Facebook is a social network service and website launched in February 2004 that is operated and privately owned by Facebook, Inc. As of January 2011, Facebook has more than 600 million active users. Users may create a personal profile, add other users as friends and exchange messages, including automatic notifications when they update their profile. Additionally, users may join common interest user groups, organized by workplace, school, or college, or other characteristics. In my own personal opinion I believe that facebook is more of a socialising network than one of music as it is mostly known by writing a status of what we have all been doing and revealing our thoughts to are friends. However facebook does allow you to create of join any group you want and a lot of groups today are to promote your favourite band or artist or a different genre of music . It allows you to post your videos on your profile for people to see and you can also comment and ‘like’ them . Overall even though facebook is the most popular network site there is , it is not noticed for its promotion in music as I believe others such as MySpace and You Tube are the best for those who are interested in posted their music online.
