Music Magazine Task

I believe it was extremely useful to have conducted the preliminary task before we moved onto our music magazine assignment as it helped us learn basic Photoshop skills (Question 6) and conventions of a front cover and contents page. It also gave us a chance to learn from our mistakes so that we didn’t make as many in the final task. Looking at both of these pieces of work together I can see how my work has developed for the better.

My music magazine front cover follows conventions well (as covered in Question 1) whereas I don’t feel my college magazine does as much. The main image on each piece is a great example of following conventions as my main image for my college magazine is the completely wrong type of shot to use for a front cover but on my music magazine the shot I have used (mid-shot) follows the conventions. I wouldn’t change anything about my college magazine because, although I made a fair few mistakes, it taught me what not to do when I came to producing my music magazine which, in the end, is a more important piece of work.
