CLASSES
GROUP CLASSES build a knowledge
base for ALL music, especially Indian
Classical music and culture. The
classes are divided per unit: Dhwani,
Vadya, Raga & Tala, Desi, Duniya
and Shastra. Each class also makes
use of the Tala Chakra (small
percussion) and Sangeet4All
instruments and methodology:
Swartarang, Bansi and Ukulele.
Children build basic musical concepts
that last a lifetime. After completing the
units, children can join the choir.

ADULT CLASSES
Teacher training, Raga appreciation
in groups, individual classes and
community choir are also offered for

DHWANI
CONTENT DESCRIPTION OF UNITS
DHWANI builds a relationship with sound
and voice training. Children build basic
musical concepts that last a lifetime.
Simple songs, stories about Indian music
heritage and activities are explored.
VADYA
VADYA imparts knowledge about the
various types of musical Instruments of
India in an interactive way through the
story of Tara the Sitar and her family and
friends in the country of Vadya.

RAGA & TALA
RAGA & TALA imparts knowledge and relation
building with introduction to different ragas
and talas. Children learn Ragas through
games and newly composed child friendly
songs. They also learn about the different
character and feelings that ragas evoke.
DESI
DESI teaches the folk traditions of India.
Travel with Urvashi, Azim and Surya
through India and learn songs, dances,
rhythm and instruments from different
regions of India.

DUNIYA
DUNIYA imparts knowledge and relation
building with world music from an Indian
music perspective. Children travel around
the world with Surya, Urvashi and Azim.
They meet Gerald Wirth, current
director of the Viennese boys’ choir,
Bassidi Kone, master Balafone and
Dejembe player from Mali, Gao Hong,
Pipa maestro from China and Freddie
Bryant, famous guitarist and
composer from Manhattan. In the
book, they meet these great artists
as children discovering their music
and the musician within them.
SHASTRA
SHASTRA teaches the history of music of India.
Travel with Urvashi, Azim and Surya
through time to the Vedas until Bollywood
and learn songs, musical styles, rhythm
and instruments from different ages of
India.
SANGEET4ALL INSTRUMENTS

SWARTARANG is a Sangeet4All trademark instrument invented and developed by Saskia Rao- de Haas. Each key is removable and children can create their own scales and music while learning different ragas. The unique teaching method allows a child to compose their own
music while learning a simple colour coded notation system.
BANSI is the Indian Bamboo straight flute. It is easy to pick up for children as a starter instrument. An instrument that can be taught to groups of children and in schools getting a sense of Indian music and instruments. The unique teaching method allows a child to compose their own music while learning a simple colour coded notation system.
UKULELE is often used in classrooms for its low entry level and fun to play with others. Learn to play Indian ragas, Indian rhythmic strumming patterns and folksongs on the ukulele with Sangeet4All.
TALA CHAKRA is the small percussion set used to do the rhythm activities. Learn the South Indian Konakol, the Sangeet4All rhythm grid to play rhythms together. Games and activities designed to learn the Indian rhythm are done through small percussion instruments that are easy to play.

SANGEET4ALL ADULTS
TEACHER TRAINING we conduct 1, 3 and 5 day workshops both online as well as on site. The unique teacher training program focusses on using the resources and gives access to the hundreds of lesson plans.
COMMUNITY CHOIR AND
OUTREACH Our ‘SaRe Gayein’ program works with volunteers from all over the world to bring music to communities who cannot afford music classes. This choir program trains volunteers in a workshop to conduct their own choir.
RAGA APPRECIATION many people enjoy listening to Indian classical music, but do not understand the structure and basic features of the different ragas and talas. This course helps enthusiastic listeners gain knowledge about the different ragas.
