Descripon The Music Diploma program provides professional training for potenal and praccing musicians. It also provides necessary courses of instrucon for performance-oriented students who may wish to pursue their studies at a more advanced level following the compleon of the college program. Admission Requirements Grade 12 graduaon or equivalent English proficiency requirement: - English 12 or Communicaons 12 with a C or higher, or - Academic IELTS 6.5 (With no band less than 6.0), or - TOEFL iBT 80 (Listening 20, Speaking 20, Reading 20, Wring 20) Music Department Exam & Audion: Students may send an audion DVD if they live outside of Vancouver and cannot come in person for an audion. Arrangements may also be made to write the theory placement exam outside of Vancouver. Major Study The Music Diploma has seven major areas. Students are admitted as majors in one area after a successful audition. Most classes are scheduled Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but evenings and weekends are sometimes required for rehearsals, performances, and other activities.

Tuition fees and other fees are approximate and subject to change due to yearly increases without notice. Students will be

required to pay increased rates if the fees change at any time during the period of enrolment in the program. Tuition and

other fees are payable on a continuous basis based on the courses in each program and when those courses are scheduled.

Application and assessment fees are non-refundable.

Course Credits

Full-time students must take required credits per term. An average full-time term consists of 17 - 21 credits; however, reduced loads are considered with permission from the Department Head.

Total Program Fees: $32,380 (approximately)

Total program fees include tuition fees, college initiative fees, student union fees, extended health and medical insurance fees, U-Pass, graduation fees, campus resource fees and other fees payable to VCC.
