OUR PEOPLE
Mushwana Inc. specifies and customizes the method of payment according to the clients’ legal needs; according to the international standards. The following are the payment methods: Lump Sum A flat or fixed fee is set when a client is charged for legal services provided.
Hourly base
we will limit our fees depending on the complexity of the subject matter. An hourly fee is a method of billing for all time actually spent on the case and legal problem at hand. Usually before starting with a client we set the hourly rate fee (generally used for consultation). Resource Normal Rates (Hourly) Discounted Rates Mr Hlanganani Mushwana R 3500.00 R 2 950.00 Mr Mandla Mushwana R 3500.00 R 2 950.00 Attorneys R 1200.00 R 600.00 Candidate Attorneys R 500.00 NB: Where rates are regulated by tariffs 23.
Hourly based with Gaps: it’s similar to the hourly base; however, the attorney sets the minimum and maximum time needed to finalize the case. If the case took more then the maximum time set by the lawyer, no additional charges are taken.
Contingency fee
is another method of billing which gives the attorney a percentage of the award granted in the case and if the client loses then the attorney receives no payment.
BILLING STRUCTURE
Retainer arrangement
is usually a fee paid up front before legal representation commences.
Mixed System
Here the client gives a down payment, which will be deducted from the total fee if the attorney won the case.
Yearly/monthly fees
this is usually the method of payment for businesses and corporations. The lawyer is given a payment at the end of each month for his or her legal services (a minimum set by the South African Bar Association).
