NEW YORK CITY IS AN AMAZING PLACE TO VISIT. THE BEAUTIFUL SKYLINE WITH TOWERING SKYSCRAPERS welcomes visitors to a city filled with people, excite-ment, and action. Thousands of visitors walk the streets of downtown Manhattan, order hot dogs from roadside carts, jog through Central Park, and wonder in amazement at the dazzling lights of Times Square. Among its many attractions, New York can boast of having some of the most fascinating educational museums in the entire world. The American Museum of Natural History continues to be one of the most popular destinations for visitors and locals alike.

The Natural History museum has an impressive array of exhibits that contain rock samples, fos-sils, carvings, bones, and preserved animal speci-mens from all over the world. When I arrived at the museum, I realized that a person could spend a week in the place and not see everything. I quickly decided to visit the exhibits that our Discovery readers would enjoy. The day I visited, the museum featured a special Tyrannosaurus rex event. The curators sec-tioned off a large area dedicated to all things T. rex. Immediately upon entering the exhibit, I realized that the main theme of the display was not T. rex. Instead, the main theme was the false idea of evolution and a presentation of how T. rex supposedly evolved from other kinds of dinosaurs. The fossils, pictures, and displays of T. rex were impressive, but the repetition of incorrect information about evolution was very disappointing.

Visitors to the event see a hatchling of baby T. rex. It is covered in feathers and looks almost identi-cal to a bird. The model of the baby is life-

sized and very professionally done. The main problem with it, however, is that it is completely made-up. Later in the exhibit, visi-tors read a statement that no one has ever found a T. rex egg, and certainly not a T. rex hatchling. And they read that researchers have never found a single T. rex fossil with feathers on it. The feathered baby T. rex is presented, yet there is not a single fossil that shows that any T. rex ever had feathers. Why would the museum do this?

The people who designed the exhibit want visitors to

believe that dinosaurs evolved into birds. In fact, the statement “Birds are Dinosaurs” is posted in several places. The fact is, that is absolutely false. Dinosaurs were not birds, they did not evolve into birds, and birds are not the evolutionary relatives of dinosaurs in any way. We know this for several reasons. First, the Law of Biogenesis states that in nature animals multiply after their own kind. When a pigeon lays an egg, the hatchling is always a pigeon—every time, with no exceptions. The Law of Biogenesis is a scientific law because never once in the history of the natural world has there been a single exception to it. Dogs give birth to puppies, cats have kittens, and a mother T. rex laid eggs that hatched baby T. rex dinosaurs—always, every time. Dinosaurs could not have evolved into birds or any other kind of crea-ture, because that would be a violation of the veri-fied scientific Law of Biogenesis.

Second, we know that birds were here before T. rex. How do we know

this? In the book of Genesis

we read that God created flying creatures, including birds, on Day Five of the Creation Week (1:20-23). We also know that T. rex did not fly, but was a land ani-mal and would not have been created on Day Five. Instead, we learn that all land animals were created on Day Six of Creation—the day after birds. T. rex couldn’t have evolved into birds, because birds were here first. Furthermore, even people who believe in evolution are forced to admit that birds have been here longer than T. rex. We have found fossils of birds that date “millions of years” before T. rex supposedly evolved. Now, we know there never were millions of years and that T. rex did not evolve, but the fact that birds are where they are in the fossil record proves they cannot be the relatives of T. rex.

It is disappointing that the American Museum of Natural History teaches such wrong ideas. Just think of the good that could be done if thousands of adults and children who visited each day were taught the truth about God and His awesome creation. Instead, they are taught false theories that are not based on real science or good evidence. The Natural History museum is a neat place to visit, but be ready to dig through the error that is taught, because there is a lot of it.

AS YOU WALK THROUGH THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM, YOU QUICKLY REALIZE THAT THE MAIN THEME is evolution: the dinosaur section teaches evolution, the section on humans teaches it, and the mammal section is filled with it. Almost every major exhibit is designed to teach something about evolution. If you pay close attention, though, you can figure out that the “evidence” that supposedly proves evolu-tion does not prove it at all. For instance, one piece of evidence that is said to support evolution is the idea of homology. We have looked at this argument many times in Discovery. Homology is the idea that if things look similar, that proves they are related and evolved from a common ancestor.

In the T. rex exhibit, however, we uncover some very interesting information. We are told that similarity sometimes “proves” evolution, but then we are told that just because living things look very similar, that does not prove they are closely related. Notice the statements made by the placards.

So, which is it? Does similarity prove that animals are close evolutionary relatives or not? Certainly not. In fact, similarity cannot be used to prove any-thing about evolution for two reasons. First, evolu-tion never happened. Second, similarity is not proof of anything. All it can show is that the animals look similar, not that they are related.

are related to animals through evolution.

In real life, we know similarity does not prove things are related. Cars have four wheels and rubber tires, but that does not mean cars are related. Most tables have four legs, but the tables are not cousins and brothers. Some brothers look similar to each other, but others do not look alike at all. Does that mean that the ones who look similar are more closely related to each other than the ones that do not? No. Furthermore, some people look very much alike but are not closely related at all. These examples show that similarity can’t be used to prove anything.

If evolution is false, then why do some animals look similar to each other, or even have similar structures to those found in humans? One great

explanation is that they have the same Designer. If God created animals and humans to live in the same world, breathe the same air, eat similar food, and move over the same ground, then it makes perfect sense that some of their parts would have a com-mon design. Cars have four wheels and rubber tires

because the design is a good one to travel over the same roads. Most tables have four legs because they are working with the same physical forces of gravity. And different kinds of animals have similar structures because they have a common Designer: God.

FOR MORE THAN 70 YEARS WE HAVE KNOWN THAT SCIENCE TEXT-BOOKS WHICH TEACH THAT HORSES evolved have been wrong. In fact, we have written about this in past Discovery issues. I was excited to see that the Natural History Museum now admits that the “evidence” once used to teach horse evolution has been proven to be inaccurate. Of course, I hoped that the authors would be honest and admit that there is no real scientific evidence that horses evolved from any other kind of animal. I hoped that they would change from the false view of evolution to the correct view that God cre-ated horses and all other kinds of animals. Unfor-tunately, that is not what the writers of the new horse “evolution” exhibit did.

Instead, they admitted that “evidence” for horse evolution that was used in the past was wrong, but then they just presented more wrong information. The placard at the exhibit says, “Scientists concluded

that there was no single line of evolution.” That means the material that showed horse evolution as a “single line” is all false. Then they stated, “This doesn’t mean that the original story was entirely wrong.” Actually, the story of horse evolution that is presented in the old textbooks as well as the new exhibit is all wrong. Horses never evolved from a different kind of animal. God created them on Day Six of Creation (Genesis 1:24-25). In the future, we will probably see another revision of horse “evolution.” It will not be due to the fact that new information has been discovered which shows how horses really evolved. Instead, it will be because horses never evolved and all of the informa-

tion that suppos-edly proves it is wrong.

ONE ENTIRE WING OF THE MUSEUM IS DEDICATED TO THE ORIGIN OF THE UNIVERSE. VISITORS CAN WATCH A four-minute video that tells them that the Big Bang brought the Universe into existence. The video even shows what some scientists believe the huge explo-sion would have looked like soon after it happened. It is a shame so much money and time has gone into this exhibit, because we know that the Big Bang can-not be the origin of our Universe. For one thing, real science proves the Big Bang could not have hap-pened. We read on the placards at the exhibit that the tiny ball of matter that supposedly exploded was smaller than a proton in an atom. We then see that our Universe contains hundreds of billions of galaxies and stars. It is scientifically impossible to get such a big Universe from such a tiny ball of mat-ter, in spite of the ways some people have tried to say it happened. The massive size of the Universe shows us that an all-powerful Creator must have been involved in creation.

We also know that explosions do not cause order. Yet, when we look at our Universe, it runs more perfectly and smoothly than any clock, computer, or man-made machine. If you smash all the parts

of a computer into a single ball and blow them up, you will never get a computer. It takes

an intelligent mind to put pieces together to create efficient systems that work. The idea of an intelligent Creator fits the evidence perfectly, but the false theory of a huge explosion is not a scientific answer.

These placards at the exhibit teach the false Big Bang theory. If you look closely, you will see

a hole just before the word “billions.” Because the Big Bang theory is false, the information constantly changes. There used to be numbers where the holes

are, but now those numbers are “wrong,” and new numbers

have not been inserted.
