Romans kept track with almost all the things that were going on in their city. They kept records of owners of property, records of trade such as ships’ cargoes, weather records, the records of the politicians.

Without this everyone in the city would be lost, all the government officials would be unorganized and the city wouldn’t be able to run smoothly

Pagan religions believed in many gods and generally worshipped the earth, sea, sun, sky and many other elements of nature. They believed that they should please them because they thought that the Gods affected their everyday lives.

They didn’t build mythologies like the Greeks they just thought everything had a spirit. The Romans had to keep them happy through worship and sacrifice such as killing one another.

Roman slavery was not racially based, you were a slave if you were captured during war and sent back to Rome. A Slave would be sold at a market place. Once bought, a slave was a slave for life and could only get their freedom if they were given it by their owner or if they bought their freedom.

Without Slaves most of the hard work wouldn’t have been done and Rome would not have the works of art they have to this day.
