• In some cases, a real estate transfer tax refund AND a lump sum.

And that’s not all:

• Families who purchase an existing property with the help of this program can take advantage of easier eligibility to the city’s renovation financial assistance programs anywhere within city limits.

• Households with children are eligible to receive 6 months of free public transit on purchase of a one-year OPUS full-fare pass… a value of close to

$500.

1. Major Residential Renovation

This program provides financial assistance mainly to upgrade all building components in need of repair in compliance with applicable codes and by-laws:

Foundations

Structure

Electricity

Plumbing

Cladding

Doors and windows

1. Major Residential Renovation

Other types of work can also be included, for instance:

Changing the number of dwellings

Designing a more functional layout

Updating kitchens and bathrooms

Improving heat or sound insulation

The financial assistance can be as high as $150,000 for a multi-tenant building.
