Dear Parents, Welcome back to the start of Term 2, 2014. I hope that everyone had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday and are ready for a short but busy term. On the back of this newsletter is an up-to-date calendar of events that will be taking place this term. Please keep it handy and add new events and dates as they become known. P & C Meeting Tonight commencing at 7pm the April P&C meeting will be held in the staffroom. All parents and friends of the school are welcome to attend. One of the items on the agenda will be the Spring Fair 2014 and whether it will continue. If you have feelings one way or the other, please feel free to come along and contribute to the discussion. The P&C is also looking for a secretary for 2014 so if you would like to be involved with the school community please think about taking on this important role. Diamond Debutante Ball Congratulations to the organisers of the inaugural Diamond Debutante Ball. It was a resounding success with 6 lovely debutantes, their partners, wonderful junior attendants and a very proud and appreciative crowd. The whole night was delightful and is a credit to the organisers and those who attended. Hopefully this ball will be the first of many. Stage 1 Excursion Just a reminder that the postponed Stage 1 excursion will now be held on Friday, 9th May. All previous arrangements regarding departure time, etc will apply. Please contact the school urgently if your child can not go or would now like to participate in the excursion. ANZAC Day A huge thank you to the 25 students who were able to join our school leaders for the ANZAC Day march last Friday. Even though it was the last Friday of the holidays it was lovely to see these students from K-6 come along and join us on this very important and sombre day. Important Dates 9th May - Stage 1 Excursion 13th - 16th May - NAPLAN yrs 3 & 5 16th May - Primary Cross Country 21st May - School Athletics Carnival Cowra High School Musical The Cowra High School Musical will be held at the Cowra Civic Centre on 7th, 8th and 9th May at 7pm. Tickets are $10 each and are available from the High School office. Stage 2 & 3 students will be attending a matinee performance on Wednesday, 7th May. The students will catch at bus to and from the Cowra Civic Centre. The cost will be $3 and a permission note will be sent home with this newsletter. * a full newsletter will be published next week. John Smith Principal Tennis Hot Shots & Cardio Program The MLC tennis hot shots program for term 2 resumes this week on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Hot Shots is a skills based program conducted by Tennis Australia qualified coaches that ensures children aged 4 and up are taught in an environment suitable to their age and skill level. The cost for term 2 is $90. Cardio resumes on Saturday 3 rd May at 8am. Cardio is a fun group tennis related fitness program set to music and is open to all ages and abilities. The cost is $90 for term 2 or $15 per week. Private or semi private tennis coaching lessons are available by appointment.
