Keyboard, mouse, scanner, camera, light pen, joystick, touch sensitive monitor etc. are some examples of input device used in multimedia. The device, which is used to getting the output/result from the computer system is called output device. Monitor, printer, speaker etc. are some example of output device used in multimedia.

2-D Animation2-D animation is also known as cel animation or pixel based animation. It is the most common kind of animation, where flat images are drawn one frame at a time.A 2-D animation package provides facility to tweening, morphing, warping, etc. which helps to develop an application easily and quickly, with special effects.

Tweening: the animation creation of a series of graphics frames between two previously created frames is called tweening.

Morphing: Morphing takes two images and seamlessly change to another. The second image actually seems to grow out of the first one. Morphing can also be used to show the pace of changes more clearly than photos.

Warping: Warping is variation of the morphing where one images is used to show various changes that take place. It uses the key points of one image to create different effects , instead of mixing up two images.

3-D AnimationIn 3-D animation, mathematical modal of 3-D object is created to realistically portray with depth. 3-D animation is very commonly used in film, video and multimedia package. 3-D animation follow three steps: modeling, animation and rendering.

Modeling is the design phase where a 3-D object is created. A 3-D object has length, breadth along with depth. A 3-D object can be made more realistic by using proper colour, shading and light source.

In second phase, the 3-D image is moved along a motion path. The motion path is defined by using key frames of the animation sequence. These key frames are used to create the in between frames in the sequence automatically.

In the third phase, the entire sequence is rendered to create a 3-D animation.
