Feature Overview

Pick and choose categories and products from the Universal Catalog to create multiple catalogs for different web stores. You can assign them different themes and templates, such that each catalog is displayed on the web store differently.

Assign different themes and templates to specific customers/customer classes. This allows the merchant to have a customized look and feel, and catalogs with customized product listings for a particular customer/customer class.

Display catalogs with the same URL on multiple devices such as laptops, mobiles and tablets with device friendly themes. This device detection capability eliminates the need to create multiple web stores with unique URLs, for different devices.

Universal Catalog across multiple web stores: You can have a universal catalog with category hierarchies, product content and SKUs that can be linked together for purposes of merchandizing, and used across multiple web stores.

Re-arrange your catalog for phone browsing: It is possible to re-group and re-arrange your catalog to allow customers to browse your web store on their phones while ensuring a great user experience.

Create new catalogs via the Manager PanelThe CSR can create multiple catalogs via the Catalog Collection menu in the Manager Panel, and assign the catalog a home category. It is possible to create multiple catalogs with varying themes and templates for different web stores. This offers the capability to render different catalogs on different themes.

Make multiple copies of a catalogThe Copy feature allows the CSR to create duplicate copies of a catalog and then assign the copy different customer/ customer class restrictions, or make modifications as per business needs.

Assign Sub Categories and Products to the Home CategoryWhile creating a New Catalog, to auto-populate all of the sub-categories and products related to the home category, select the check box provided. Categories and products associated with the home category would be displayed in the Associated Categories and Products tab. In case the user does not check the auto-populate check box, bulk add option is also provided.

Ensure seamless user experience with secured catalogThe CSR is required to enable secured catalog so that he can assign different catalogs to individual customers and customer classes. If secured catalog is not enabled for a particular web store channel, then catalog theme mapping is not possible for that web store. Secured catalog also helps ensure that the user gets a seamless shopping experience irrespective of his login status.

Assign customized catalogs to customers/ customer classesThe merchant can create a subset of the universal catalog and provide personalized service to the shopper by assigning different themes and templates suited to the specific customer/customer class. For example, the merchant can choose to display the products in his catalog in a grid format to customers belonging to the Distributors customer class, while displaying a list format with more product details visible per product for the Retail customers. This also opens up the possibility of a customer specific shop with customer specific branding.

Theme MappingMultiple themes can be assigned at Category, Product and SKU level. For example, in the screenshots above, the theme for Mobile Serenity is applied to the Serenity store’s category and sub-categories, with the device type chosen as Mobile.

Multi-device compatibility with responsive web store designMerchants can also publish their catalogs differently for phone or web browsing. This feature gives you a device detection capability making your web store design responsive to multiple devices. Instead of creating multiple stores with varying URLs for different devices, this helps merchants display their catalog with the same URL but with a device friendlier theme. This gives visitors a responsive experience and allows the merchant to show the right content on the right device.

Use device real estate efficientlyDifferent devices have different real estate available for the merchant to display his products. While desktops and laptops have larger screen spaces, the phone real estate is much smaller, limiting the merchant’s ability to publish detailed information about the product. This is particularly important for product listing and product detail pages as the decision-making navigation is usually from search to listing to detail. The ability to assign different themes and templates to the same catalog on multiple devices allows the merchant to customize the content displayed on each device such that it benefits sales.

Catalog Import

Category and Product import has a field – Catalog ID, which when mapped assigns the catalog to the Category/Product. When a catalog is assigned to the category, all of the products under the category will automatically be mapped with the catalog.
