Legend has it that during the American Civil War, two men oundthemselves on opposite sides o the battlefeld. Not long ater thelast cannon was fred, having lost amily and aith, the two strangers

independently turned their backs on their homelands and headedwest to San Francisco. They crossed paths in a boarding house and,ironically, it was the destruction o the war itsel that led to the twobecoming frm riends.

Having experienced devastation, destruction and exploitation, theyknew that a strong value system was the oundation o success. These

values were rooted in the spirit o true generosity that thrived with an

innovative hunger or excellence.

Their names were Clement Mugg and Joshua Fenomah Bean, and in1868 they lited their bourbon glasses and toasted to bringing Mugg& Bean General Merchants to lie.

In fve short years, their business ourished and became a place whereeveryone was welcome. Their dreams and ambitions were passed onto their young sons, George and Edmund, who grew up as steadastriends and never orgot their humble beginnings.

Generations later, we still believe in Giving more, dreaming big andsharing it with the whole world.
