Examples of Packaged Projects
• Liquid to Gas Conversion of Vehicles• Project Description: The project is pursuing
conversion of municipal buses from using liquid energy to using natural gas. Nubia Energy, a100% black owned company has partnered with NOVO Energy to convert Ekurhuleni municipal buses to using natural gas. The municipality has given them an order to convert 10 buses on a pilot phase. NOVO has already completed similar projects in Mozambique. SASOL has agreed to ration some gas to the company
• Project value: R200 million.• Funding Requirements: R100 million; R100 m
raised.

GEDA can assist with project facilitation• GEDA can assist in setting up a first contact, chairing initial meetings,
arranging subsequent meetings, organizing initial secretarial services, networking and creating an environment in which potential partners can reach a common understanding.
GEDA can help with the implementation and operation of a project• The GEDA team can assist in the identification of local or international
consultants or institutions that provide support in the fields such as business development and land acquisitions.
GEDA will assist in finding investment and trade partners• GEDA can assist in identifying local or international business partners that
meet the necessary business requirements of the project.
GEDA can assist in raising funds for an investor’s project• While GEDA is not primarily a venture capitalist, the Agency can assist
investors in raising the necessary finance for investment projects that fall within its area of focus. Such assistance is conditional on the project being approved by GEDA, and on the necessary feasibility/market research having been completed.

GEDA can assist with sourcing of information needed for investment projects
• The GEDA team can assist in sourcing information crucial to a project’s success. This may take the form of technical theses, information brochures, contracted in-depth studies, or contact with relevant authorities in specific fields.
GEDA can assist with work permit applications• Once a project has been approved and it is established that local personnel
cannot be used in key positions and that international personnel are therefore required, GEDA can assist in applying for the necessary work permits.
GEDA helps in finding appropriate sites/properties for projects• GEDA has a good knowledge of the property market in Gauteng, and can
assist in finding the most appropriate and suitable locations for investors.
GEDA can assist with incentive applications• There is a wide array of incentives available to investors from the Department
of Trade and Industry, municipalities and other institutions. GEDA can assist in identifying the most appropriate incentives and in completing the necessary applications for projects that qualify.

GEDA can help get a pilot operation going• GEDA offers the investor the opportunity to set up a pilot operation
with in-house facilities such as telephones, faxes etc until such time as the company is ready to move out into the industry in which they operate.
GEDA offers an Export development programme• Geda assist companies to be export ready by capacitating the
companies to supply high quality products that comply with set international standards; host export ready companies on both international and domestic exhibitions and trade shows; Host your products on our internet enabled (Export Portal) marketing tool (free of charge)

obstacles to investment and ensure that strategic development projects are delivered in the quickest possible times;
