Mud

1
Mud is a mixture of water and any combination of soil , silt , and clay , and usually forms after rainfall or near water sources. Ancient mud deposits harden over geological time to form sedimentary rock such as shale or mudstone (generally called lutites). When geological deposits of mud are formed in estuaries the resultant layers are termed bay muds . 1. Soil stabilization is a way of improving the weight bearing capabilities and performance of in-situ sub- soils, sands, and other waste materials in order to strengthen road surfaces. The prime objective of soil stabilization is to improve the California Bearing Ratio of in-situ soils by 4 to 6 times.
