These are referenced MD RKB, presenting the formation gas records as collected from the cuttings that pass over the shakers during drilling. The total gas and gas fractions ranging from C1 to C5 are recorded by the mud logging unit and presented as gas curves on the mud log (or formation evaluation log). This data is not typically available in the original digital format and historically has not been reported as part of the normal digital well data submission for released wells. The analysis of these gas records can aid in the exploration phase by helping to identify by-passed pay and reservoir pinch out plays. Once captured as a digital record, the data can be presented alongside conventional wire line logs for a variety of display purposes or queried to identify zones of interest.
