7 Cs of Success

Saum (fasting)-A Tool for Maximizing

Performance

Appearance of the “Ramadan moon” marks the beginning of

the season of hasanat (good deeds and bliss), that is,

Ramadan. It is one of the most blissful months of the year for

all Muslims around the globe. It is a month full of blessings

which promotes patience, compassion, harmony and

respect. During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn till

sunset to attain the pleasure of Allah (SWT). It not only

builds compassion for the needy people but it is a pathway

to refining ourselves as better human beings by counting

our blessings. Crowded Masjids, unlike the other months of

the year, is a common site during the month of Ramadan

which reflects the willingness of Muslims to build their

connection with their Creator through offering Salaat and

reciting Quran.

The busy routine of the Muslims during this month trains

them both spiritually and physically. Praying five times

during the day, Qiyam at night, then rising up early for

Suhoor (a meal before daybreak) and then carrying out the

tasks for the day such as office work and household chores

is what keeps one super busy for the day. The training is

good enough to suffice Muslims for the rest of the eleven

months. Since Muslims move as a community, they get

inspiration from one another that leads to a healthy culture.

The best part is that everyone tries to perform up to their

level best and the sole objective remains common which is

to please Allah.

If we ponder over the teachings of Quran and Sunnah, the

singular aim appears to be the training of the individuals in

the light of ethics, morals and spirituality for the greater good

of the entire society. The beauty is that Muslims, irrespective

of their differing literacy levels, know the basic “do's and

don'ts” of behaviors and attitudes. Saum (fasting) is the best

tool to keep us alert to avoid the don'ts and observe the do's

which even leads to the internal satisfaction of the

individuals.

Moreover, our belief tells us that struggle for Rizk-e-Halal

(right means of earning livelihood) is Abadat (worship) in

itself. Therefore, if we take our job at MTL in the light of our

belief, we can successfully achieve not only our

organizational objectives but also perform Abadat at the

same time. It is the sense of accountability to Allah that

keeps one away from eating and drinking during the fast.

This is the spirit that our religion inculcates into us. Adhering

to this spirit of Allah's watchfulness leads us to do honest

hard work at workplace and to be loyal to our

employer/organization.

Let's get the inspiration from Ramadan to guide us in our

walks of life. It includes commitment to hard work and

integrity which shall be the roots of our corporate culture and

environment where we try to encourage and help one

another. Learning from Ramadan, if we try to attain

commitment, integrity and consistency at workplace then it

can rightfully be claimed that “Saum (fast) is the best tool to

maximize performance”.

11 Proven Ways to Gain UnstoppableConfidence

9 - Compose Yourself Dress well, groom yourself,

compose your identity as a person who is well put

together, and you will feel confident when meeting new

people and doing new things.

10 - Be Decisive While it is okay to take time to analyze

and think situations through, the time comes when you

must be decisive and act. Decisive people are confident;

not confident people are decisive.

11- Be Complete Know yourself fully, wash away your

own doubts about yourself, your identity and your

capabilities, and present every aspect of yourself in every

situation and you will have no reason to doubt your

confidence. Become your full, real self.

A group of 10 instructors of TEVTA, Punjab were given

training on 3.1524, T3.1524 and 4.41 engines at MTL

Training School by Marketing Division. The duration of the

course was one week.

At the successful completion of the course, Mr. Muhammad

Akram, General Manager- Mktg. handed over the

certificates to the participants.

Mr. Akram while addressing the participants highlighted the

role of MTL in the development of farm mechanization of the

country.

He emphasized the importance of using special tools in

order to increase accuracy and efficiency. He appreciated

the group for their active participation. He hoped the training

would be helpful in the professional life of the participants.

Training Program Of TEVTA At MTL

Mr. Muhammad Akram, GM (Marketing) handing over certificateto the Instructor of TEVTA.

1 - Knowledge Is Power Those who know are

ultimately much more confident in any arena than those

shrouded in ignorance. Use your spare time to read up on

the things that interest you, on the things that you are

curious about, and build up a solid base of knowledge and

critical thinking. The more you know, the more sure of

yourself you will be in any situation.

2 - Experience Uncertainty is the biggest drain on

your self-confidence. Succumbing to doubt ensures you

will never believe in yourself. The more often you do

something, the more certain you become. With certainty

comes confidence.

3 - Care-Free Attitude Try to walk through your day

with as easy and care-free attitude because someone who

is at ease with him or herself is someone who is confident.

Build unstoppable confidence by not getting hung up on the

petty issues and minor irritations that help wear you down.

4 - Honest Self-Assessment Take stock of yourself.

Brainstorm for a bit and compose a list of your good

qualities and bad, the things you excel at and the things

you need to improve upon. Once you have a clear

picture of yourself much of the uncertainty that breeds

doubt will wash away.

5 - Analyze Your confidence will grow when you take time

to properly think through every problem.

6 - Be Thorough Try to be as complete and thorough

at every task you attempt. Completing tasks builds

confidence in your ability to always see projects through

to their proper conclusion.

7 - Identify Your Limits, And Exceed ThemOnce you have assessed yourself, make a list of goals

you wish to accomplish, and get to work. You now know

your true limits, so the only thing left to do is push beyond

them and set your sights on new frontiers.

8 - Be Open To Helping Others Don't close

yourself off to friends, acquaintances and coworkers. The

more you put yourself out there in business and social

situations, the more quickly you will build confidence in

your ability to navigate these sometimes tricky waters.

Environment, Health and Safety inan Organization

Development Of Electronic Library

Environmental quality is a set of properties and

characteristics of the environment, either generalized or

local, as they impinge on human beings and other

organisms. It is a measure of the condition of an

environment relative to the requirements of one or more

species and or to any human need or purpose. Companies

must consider environmental protection, occupational

health and safety at work as important as providing quality

products usually have managers and departments

responsible for these issues. Environmental, Health and

Safety management has two general objectives:

prevention of incidents or accidents that might result from

abnormal operating conditions on the one hand and

reduction of adverse effects that result from normal

operating conditions on the other hand. Also must action be

taken to reduce a company's environmental impact under

normal operating conditions (like reducing the company's

carbon footprint) and to prevent workers from developing

work related diseases. Regulatory requirements play an

important role in both approaches and consequently, EHS

managers must identify and understand relevant EHS

regulations, the implications of which must be

communicated to top management (the board of directors)

so the company can implement suitable measures. The

general approach to EHS management as per international

standards ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 is based on the

methodology called "Plan-Do-Check-Act" (PDCA). PDCA

in the EHS context can briefly be described as follows,-

Plan, document the organization's overall EHS aims and

objectives in a policy statement, identify and register

environmental aspects and impacts and occupational

health and safety risks as well as regulatory requirements.-

Do, define EHS objectives and targets, implement suitable

strategic initiatives to deliver results in accordance with the

organization's EHS policy and legal requirements.-Check,

monitor and measure the results against policy, objectives,

targets and legal and other requirements.

Occupational safety and health can be important for moral,

legal, and financial reasons. All organizations have a duty

of care to ensure that employees and any other person who

may be affected by the companies undertaking remain safe

at all times it should be aim at: the promotion and

maintenance of the highest degree of physical, mental and

social well-being of workers in all occupations; the

prevention amongst workers of departures from health

caused by their working conditions; the protection of

workers in their employment from risks resulting from

factors adverse to health; the placing and maintenance of

the worker in an occupational environment adapted to his

physiological and psychological capabilities; and, to

summarize, the adaptation of work to man and of each man

to his job

The Human Resource Department is intensively focusing

on creating learning culture at MTL through developing and

sharing knowledge. That is the one way to develop a

knowledgeable employee. The creation and sharing of

information / knowledge results in improved performance,

competitive advantage or high levels of innovation.

Therefore, in order to make MTL, a learning organization,

HRD has created Electronic – library. Numerous valuable

and highly informative books and articles are available.

With the technical collaboration of IT department, an

independent local web portal has been developed.

No internet connection is required to access the portal. By

typing the following path http://192.168.10.73/el at any

internet explorer, anyone can enjoy downloading and

reading books and articles of his / her interest. These books

and articles would be updated fortnightly by HR.

Tips to Reduce Stress and ImproveProductivity

We probably know that managing our time effectively will

help to perform more tasks. But it has important health

benefits, too. By managing our time more wisely, we can

minimize stress and improve our quality of life.

To get started, choose one of these strategies, try it for two

to four weeks and see if it helps.

Time management

“Effective time management is a primary means to a

less stressful life. These practices can help us to

reduce our stress and reclaim our personal life.”

Abdul Moeed Bin Tariq (AM-HRD)

Plan each day. Planning our day can help us accomplish

more and feel more in control of our life. Write a to-do

list, putting the most important tasks at the top. Keep a

schedule of our daily activities to minimize conflicts and

last-minute rushes.

Prioritize our tasks. Time-consuming but relatively

unimportant tasks can consume a lot of your day.

Prioritizing tasks will ensure that we spend our time and

energy on those that are truly important for us.

Say no to nonessential tasks. We should consider our

goals and schedule before agreeing to take on

additional work.

Delegate. Take a look at our to-do list and consider what

we can pass on to someone else.

Take the time. We need to do a quality job. Doing work

right the first time may take more time upfront, but errors

usually result in time spent making corrections, which

takes more time overall.

Break large time-consuming tasks into smaller tasks.

Work on them a few minutes at a time until get them

all done.

Practice the 10-minute rule. Work on a dreaded task

for 10 minutes each day. Once we get started, we may

find that we can finish it.

Evaluate how we are spending our time. Keep a diary

of everything we do for three days to determine how we

are spending our time. Look for time that can be used

more wisely. For example, could we take a bus or train to

work and use the commute to catch up on reading? If so,

we could free up some time to exercise or spend with

family or friends.

Limit distractions. Block out time on our calendar for

big projects. During that time, close our door and turn

off our phone and we should stop internet surfing.

Get plenty of sleep, eat a healthy diet and exercise

regularly. A healthy lifestyle can improve your focus

and concentration, which will help us to improve our

efficiency so that we can complete our work in less time.

Take a break when needed. Too much stress can

derail our attempts at getting organized. When we need

a break, take one. We should take a walk regularly.

Do some quick stretches at our workstation. We should

take a day of vacation to rest and re-energize.
