THE N°1TENNIS ACADEMY IN EUROPE Founded by Patrick Mouratoglou’s drive and the

merger between TETC Paris and ISP Nice, the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy is now an undis-puted leader in the training of future champions. Recognized as one of the most efficient institutions in the world, the Academy, since its conception encompasses some of the greatest hopes for future tennis champions. Over the years, it has also become a major conduit for American Universities who recruit the best student-athletes in the world.

Our Tennis and Study program provides our young athletes with both a high level of athletic training and an excellent academic education, al lowing them to harmoniously combine intensive training, tournaments and school curriculum throughout the year.

The ultimate objective is to help our students gain valuable insight to both sports and education, leading to a professional tennis career and/or obtaining a scholarship to an American University.

ABOUT US

THE MERGERThe Mouratoglou Tennis Academy is the joining of two remarkable French tennis professionals, Patrick Mouratoglou and Charles Auffray.

In 1996, Patrick Mouratoglou established TETC and within 15 years became one of the most respected coaches in the world. He is accredited with the remarkable careers of Marcos Baghdatis, Grigor Dimitrov and Serena Williams.

In 1998, Charles Auffray, a former profes-sional player and graduate of Pepperdine University, California, USA, opened the first French placement athletes agency for American universities and in 2003 established his own academy (ISP).

They both decided to join forces in 2014 and set up the most solid and prestigious Academy in Europe. A high performance level in tennis accompa-nied with a sound educational syllabus is their creed.

OUR SCHOOLA French and International school allowing French and foreign students to benefit from a rigorous academic program organized around an intensive tennis schedule.

MULTI-CULTURAL APPROACHOver 30 nationalities live on campus during the year. Students are enriched by discovering other cultures and can improve their English naturally through contacts with their foreign peers. This international environment is a real asset.

PHILOSOPHYOur Academy is much more than a simple school or a training facility. It allows each Individual to develop their force of cha-racter and keep an open mind. Learning effort in the classroom and on the court is our mandate. Achieving results is our first priority

EXCEPTIONAL GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATIONWith over 300 days of sunshine a year, the French Riviera is one of the best destinations in the world for intensive tennis, seeing that 80% of international and university competitions are played outdoors. Nice International Airport, 15 minutes from the Academy, provides quick and easy access to players and parents around the world.

KEYS TO SUCCESS

COACHING & MANAGEMENTOur qualified and professional staff is comprised of 20 tennis and fitness coaches, all educated at the Mouratoglou training methods. Passionate and methodical, our coaches give players the ideal setting for a full training program. Students are supervised on campus 24/7 by caring staff. The welfare of each and every student is our priority. To excel in both academics and athletics we invest in quality time for the well being of our students.

SCHOOLINGOur goal is to find the right balance between school and tennis. Students are given responsi-bilities which encourage them to effectively manage their time. Our students progress in small classes, allowing a unique relationship with demanding teachers. The curriculum is consistently tailored to student achievement. In view of tournaments, the program is modified only if the student is up to date with school assignments.

METHOD & TAILORED COURSESThe Academy’s method focuses on reinforcing the individual’s strengths. Now, armed with self-confidence the player can work on impro-ving the weak aspects of his/her game. Trust is a very important factor and we absolutely need to create and maintain a trusting environment between the coaches and players. Customized training is the only way one can progress. Coaches rely on their technical, tactical and mental skills to adapt to the player’s needs. The Mouratoglou method is centering around 8 main points, all essential for a successful tennis player, and which has proven its efficiency on many occasions at the highest level.

WIDE RANGE OF LEVELSThe Academy is composed of 130 male and female players of different levels. Even if the average level is very high at the academy, players will always be challenged. Players improve consistently and will systematically be challenged at their different levels. This particularity promotes progression.

PHYSICAL TRAININGPhysical training at the Academy is of fundamental importance. To prevent specific injuries, we test and analyze the needs of each player to create a customized workout schedule. Programs are often tailored to the physiological development and sometimes medical diagnosis is taken into account.

HIGH LEVEL PERFORMANCEThe High Level performance is a source of inspiration to our youth. Many male and female players of the ATP & WTA Tours train here regularly and it is a fantastic opportunity for our students to see top players perform.

SUPERVISED TOURNAMENTSSupervision is provided to our students in every tournament. We observe every match and encourage the players, focusing on their attitude and their objectives. Each match gives rise to a specific debriefing.

USA - SCHOLARSHIPSEvery year, more than 50 male and female players leave the Academy. On average scholarships cover 70% of the total fees. An ideal way to study a minimum of 4 years and to play in high level championships. A great opportunity to train intensively every day and stay competitive while building on one’s academic background.

INTERNATIONALThis year, over 30 different nationalities are represented at the Academy, of which 65% are English-speaking students. This cultural blend is unique, allowing our students to progress rapidly and systematically.

SCHOLARSHIP USA 1918

Tennis & School / 2015-2016

Our «USA Scholarship» program offers our students a unique opportunity to have access to an outstanding education after high school. Each year, more than 50 students are admitted, with a scholarship, to a university in the United States.

The average annual cost of an American university is $ 30,000, and our students receive scholarships that covers on average 70% of the total fees, the equivalent to 25,000 dollars per year.

The best universities have a very high tennis level, similar to a professional one, and it is common to see some of their athletes reach the world’s top 100 (Recently: James Blake, Robbie Ginepri, John Isner, and many others).

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM LEVEL REQUIRED TO OBTAIN A TENNIS SCHOLARSHIP TO AN AMERICAN UNIVERSITY?

Approximately 4/6 for boys and 15 for girls in order to integrate a university in 1st or 2nd Division. The number of scholarships for girls is indeed comparatively higher than for boys.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED ?A high school diploma (all subjects) with a minimum GPA of 10/20, and the two required exams (SAT & TOEFL) for which we provide registration and training.

HOW VALUABLE IS AN AMERICAN GRADUATE ?American degrees (Bachelors & Masters) are recognized worldwide. Being bilingual and having spent four years abroad gives you a signifi-cant advantage in the job market.

WHEN SHOULD I REGISTER ?The admission process begins about 15 months before the end of high school. Your application should include high school transcripts, registering for tests and scholarship requests.

Our students are spending 10 months at the Academy, working hard in the classroom as well as on the tennis court. Still, they have spare time at night and during week-ends that they might use to enjoy activities orga-nized directly by our staff, on and off campus. Our region is beautiful and students have many opportunities to enjoy seasonal activities.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

During 2 days, all players and coaches live on a bivouac located 30 kilometers from the Academy, in the heart of the French Alps. The seminary includes hiking, races, physical tests, and it’s an opportunity to create social cohesion between everyone.

ACTIVITIES ON AND OFF CAMPUSA certain number of activities are organized throughout the year. Those events are a unique occasion to participate in team builiding and establish strong social exchanges. On campus the players have a daily access to the Game Room (Pool, Ping Pong, Internet access and TV), sport facilities and cinema at CIV Campus.
