SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Many electrical and mechanical parts in this chassis have special safety-related characteristics. These parts are identified by inthe Schematic Diagram and Replacement Parts List. It is essential that these special safety parts should be replaced with the same components as recommended in this manual toprevent X-RADIATION, Shock, Fire, or other Hazards. Do not modify the original design without permission of manufacturer.
General Guidance
An isolation Transformer should always be used duringthe servicing of a receiver whose chassis is not isolated fromthe AC power line. Use a transformer of adequate power ratingas this protects the technician from accidents resulting inpersonal injury from electrical shocks.
It will also protect the receiver and it's components from beingdamaged by accidental shorts of the circuitry that may beinadvertently introduced during the service operation.
If any fuse (or Fusible Resistor) in this monitor is blown, replaceit with the specified.
When replacing a high wattage resistor (Oxide Metal FilmResistor, over 1W), keep the resistor 10mm away from PCB.
Keep wires away from high voltage or high temperature parts.
Due to high vacuum and large surface area of picture tube,extreme care should be used in handling the Picture Tube.Do not lift the Picture tube by it's Neck.
Leakage Current Cold Check(Antenna Cold Check)With the instrument AC plug removed from AC source,connect an electrical jumper across the two AC plug prongs.Place the AC switch in the on position, connect one lead ofohm-meter to the AC plug prongs tied together and touch otherohm-meter lead in turn to each exposed metallic parts such asantenna terminals, phone jacks, etc. If the exposed metallic part has a return path to the chassis, themeasured resistance should be between 1MΩ and 5.2MΩ. When the exposed metal has no return path to the chassis thereading must be infinite.An other abnormality exists that must be corrected before thereceiver is returned to the customer.
Leakage Current Hot Check (See below Figure) Plug the AC cord directly into the AC outlet.Do not use a line Isolation Transformer during this check. Connect 1.5K/10watt resistor in parallel with a 0.15uF capacitorbetween a known good earth ground (Water Pipe, Conduit, etc.)and the exposed metallic parts.Measure the AC voltage across the resistor using ACvoltmeter with 1000 ohms/volt or more sensitivity.Reverse plug the AC cord into the AC outlet and repeat ACvoltage measurements for each exposed metallic part. Anyvoltage measured must not exceed 0.75 volt RMS which iscorresponds to 0.5mA.In case any measurement is out of the limits specified, there ispossibility of shock hazard and the set must be checked andrepaired before it is returned to the customer.

2. RS-232C INPUT(CONTROL/SERVICE) PORTConnect to the RS-232C port on a PC.

RGB1 OUTPUT(PC OUTPUT) SOCKETYou can watch the RGB1 signal on another monitor, connectRGB1 OUTPUT (PC OUTPUT) to another monitorÕs PCinput port. When the monitor is in standby mode, you can notwatch the RGB1 signal on another monitor.
4. CONTROL LOCK Switch REMOTE CONTROLWhen ÒCONTROL LOCKÓ is set ÒONÓ, Monitor is operated bythe external control device.

6. POWER CORD SOCKETThis Monitor operates on an AC power. The voltage is indi-cated on the Specifications page. Never attempt to operatethe Monitor on DC power.

- When using the remote control aim it at the remote control sensor of the Monitor.- There's maybe a defect in consecutive operation of remote control in specified brightness according to this monitor
feature.
¥ Open the battery compartment cover on the back side andinsert the batteries with correct polarity.
¥ Install two 1.5V alkaline batteries of AAA type. DonÕt mix usedbatteries with new batteries.

1. Application ObjectThese instructions are applied to all of the PDP monitor, RF-02RA.
2. Notes(1) Because this is not a hot chassis, it is not necessary to use
an isolation transformer. However, the use of isolationtransformer will help protect test instrument.
(2) Adjustment must be done in the correct order.(3) The adjustment must be performed in the circumstance of
25±5¡C of temperature and 65±10% of relative humidity ifthere is no specific designation.
(4) The input voltage of the receiver must keep 110~240V,50/60Hz in adjusting.
(5) The receiver must be operated for about 15 minutes priorto the adjustment.
¤ After receiving 100% white pattern, the receiver must beoperate prior to adjustment.(Or white condition in HEAT-RUN mode)
¤ŁEnter into HEAT-RUN mode - Select the HEAT-RUN OFF by pressing ADJ Key on
Remote Control for adjustment.- Press the VOL + Key in HEAT-RUN OFF.
(OSD display HEAT-RUN WHITE and screen display100% FULL WHITE PATTERN)
[ Set is activated HEAT-RUN without signal generator inthis mode.
[ Single color pattern of HEAT-RUN mode uses to checkPANEL.(RED/BLUE/GREEN)
[Caution] If you turn on a still screen more than 20 minutes, aafterimage may be occur in the black level part of thescreen.
Each PCB Assy must be checked by the Check JIG Set beforewhole assembly. (Be careful the POWER PCB Assy not todamage to PDP Module)
3. POWER PCB Assy Voltage Adjustment(Va, Vs, -Vy, Vsetup Voltage Adjustment)

3-3. Adjustment Method(POWERWELL)
(1) Va Adjustment¤ Connect pin 1 of CN205 to (+) jack of D.M.M.¤ŁAfter turning the VR3(Va ADJ), voltage of D.M.M
adjustment as same as Va voltage which on label ofpanel right/top.(Deviation : ±0.5V)
(2) Vs Adjustment¤ Connect pin 1 of CN207 to (+) jack of D.M.M.¤ŁAfter turning the VR6(Vs ADJ), voltage of D.M.M adjust
as same as Vs voltage which indicated on label of panelright/top.(Deviation : ±0.5V)
(3) -Vy Adjustment¤ Connect pin 1 of CN208 to (+) jack of D.M.M.¤ŁAfter turning the VR5(-Vy ADJ), voltage of D.M.M adjust
as same as -Vy voltage which indicated on label ofpanel right/top.(Deviation : ±0.5V)
(4) Vsetup Adjustment¤ Connect pin 5 of CN208 to (+) jack of D.M.M.¤ŁAfter turning the VR4(Vsetup ADJ), voltage of D.M.M
adjust as same as Vsetup voltage which indicated onlabel of panel right/top.(Deviation : ±0.5V)
[ Refer to Typical Voltage1. Va : 35 ~ 45V2. Vs : 170 ~ 185V3. -Vy : -60 ~ -90V4. Vsetup : 210 ~ 240V
[ Replace PDP Module or Power Board, adjust certainly PowerPCB Assy Voltage.

3-4. Adjustment Method(SONY)
(1) Va Adjusment¤ Connect pin 1 of CN209 to (+) jack of D.M.M.¤ŁAfter turning the VR402(Va ADJ), voltage of D.M.M
adjustment as same as Va voltage which on label ofpanel right/top.(Deviation : ±0.5V)
(2) Vs Adjustment¤ Connect pin 8 of CN207 to (+) jack of D.M.M.¤ŁAfter turning the VR401(Vs ADJ), voltage of D.M.M
adjust as same as Vs voltage which indicated on labelof panel right/top.(Deviation : ±0.5V)
(3) -Vy Adjustment¤ Connect pin 5 of CN208 to (+) jack of D.M.M.¤ŁAfter turning the VR403(-Vy ADJ), voltage of D.M.M
adjust as same as -Vy voltage which indicated on labelof panel right/top.(Deviation : ±0.5V)
(4) Vsetup Adjustment¤ Connect pin 1 of CN208 to (+) jack of D.M.M.¤ŁAfter turning the VR404(Vsetup ADJ), voltage of D.M.M
adjust as same as Vsetup voltage which indicated onlabel of panel right/top.(Deviation : ±0.5V)
[ Refer to Typical Voltage1. Va : 30 ~ 50V2. Vs : 170 ~ 185V3. -Vy : -60 ~ -90V4. Vsetup : 210 ~ 240V
[ Replace PDP Module or Power Board, adjust certainly PowerPCB Assy Voltage.
4. Adjustment of AUTO RGB
4-1. OutlineAUTO RGB adjustment is the function to set the optimumblack-level and Gain automatically in Analog --> Digitalconverter and to correct RGB deviation.
4-2. Required EquipmentPC Pattern Generator(It can be possible to output 16Gray Scale Pattern and RGBoutput level is corrected to 0.7±0.1Vp-p)
4-3. Adjustment Method(1) It can be possible to RGB input 16Gray Scale Pattern
signal of PC Mode and select RGB.(2) Press the ADJ Key on R/C to enter adjustment mode and
select 2.W/B and then press the VOL + Key.(3) Turn the HEATRUN OFF and select AUTO RGB and then
press the VOL + Key.
5. Adjustment of White Balance
5-1. Required Equipment(1) Color analyzer(CA-100 or same production)(2) Auto Regulator(Required while auto adjustment, and
possible to communicate with RS-232C)(3) AV Pattern Generator
5-2. Connection Diagram of Equipment forMeasuring
[ After stop the Micom by pressing IN-START Key on RemoteControl, insert the P102 with automatic adjustment ofconnector. After remove connector, move the Micom by pressing ENTERKey.

5-3. Adjustment of White Balance¥ Operate the Zero-calibration of the CAÑ100, then stick
sensor to PDP module surface when you adjust.¥ For manual adjustment, it is also possible by the following
sequence.
(1) Select WHITE PATTERN of HEAT RUN mode by pressingADJ button on Remote Control for adjustment then operateHEAT RUN more than 15 minute.
(2) Supply Full White signal(signal output level : 85IRE) in AVPattern Generator.
(3) Select image regulation status to ÔClear ImageÕ.(4) Stick sensor to the center of screen and press the ADJ Key
on R/C to select W/B and then press the VOL + Key toenter the adjustment mode.After selecting R ADJ and B ADJ, press the VOL +/- Keyand adjust it until color coordination becomes(B GAINfixation)
color coordination : X=0.280±0.003, Y=0.290±0.003color temperature : 10,000cK ± 500cK
(5) Exit adjustment mode using Enter button.
