Choices for the way you want to liveMt Eymard offers a choice of two types of residences—serviced apartments or cottages:

Serviced apartments

If you’re seeking independent living but would appreciate the convenience of having daily meal preparation, a weekly linen service and weekly cleaning taken care of for you, a serviced apartment at Mt Eymard could be your ideal choice. Located in the historic Eymard House and close to the community centre and dining room, there is a range of studio and one bedroom serviced apartments. Each studio has its own living area, kitchenette and ensuite bathroom. Each one bedroom apartment has its own living area, kitchenette and separate bedroom with ensuite.

All serviced apartments are under strata title and a monthly fee is payable for services which includes all meals, cleaning and linen services. Serviced apartment residents enjoy access to all facilities and activities on offer at Mt Eymard.

Cottages

With a variety of floor plans and aspects, two and three bedroom cottages are located throughout the community. Each cottage has a private garden area to make your own. Enjoy a barbecue with your neighbours, grow herbs or simply soak up the morning sun while you plan your day ahead. For added convenience, each cottage has its own garage with secure internal access.

The comfort you deserve in retirementEach residence is planned to provide generous living spaces which maximise natural light and airflow. Where possible, serviced apartments and cottages capture aspects over Mt Eymard’s peaceful established gardens.

A range of practical features to help you live comfortablyThinking ahead for the years to come, each single storey cottage is built on ground level with no internal steps. For your convenience, all doorways and hallways are wider than standard, tiled areas are slip-resistant and the showers are step-free. Residences are also fitted with emergency call buttons so help is never far away if you need it.

Understanding the costsYour home at Mt EymardAs you plan for this next exciting phase of your life, it’s important to understand the different types of costs involved.

There are three key costs involved in living at Mt Eymard, specific details of which will be clearly detailed and agreed with you up-front based on the specific home you choose. We also encourage you to seek independent financial advice.

1. Entry priceThis is the single, up-front payment that secures your new home. It can be considered similar to the purchase price you would pay when buying a traditional home, although the cost of a residence at Mt Eymard is usually significantly lower than the cost of a similar residence in the same area and includes access to all of the community facilities and benefits of life at Mt Eymard.

2. Ongoing feesFor serviced apartment residents, a monthly fee is payable for services which includes all meals, cleaning and linen services and after hours care staff.

For all other residents, a monthly strata fee is payable. Both costs include managing and maintaining residences and shared community facilities, the helpful staff and looking after gardens and recreation areas. They also cover building insurance for every home within the community.

3. Leaving Mt Eymard

Serviced apartments

For serviced apartments at Mt Eymard a departure fee applies, which is an agreed percentage of the ingoing contribution you paid, which is then paid to Australian Unity when you leave the community. With the departure fee, Australian Unity delivers a more affordable home up-front. The actual departure fee paid will depend on a number of variables.

Cottages

When you leave the community, there are fees payable to Australian Unity or your nominated agent acting for you on the sale of your cottage including commission and advertising costs.
