o The need for Confined Space work gives rise to a wide variety of hazards that must be overcome to ensure the safety of the worker and in the worst case may lead to the need for a rescue to be carried out under the most difficult of circumstances

o Your responsibilities as an employer include ensuring adequate training, working practices, risk assessments, equipment and rescue services

o One of the most important roles in your working team is your ‘Entry Controller’

o This individual is responsible for: o Ensuring the safety of all those inside the confined space o Ensuring that communications are maintained within the team o Summoning assistance from the emergency services if required o One option is to train your own staff for this role. But on a large project you may need a

o When working in environments such as Gas Turbines, even the smallest of unwanted items left in the apparatus on completion of work can have dangerous and extremely expensive consequences

o Our clean conditions monitoring service provides the staff to strictly monitor and control personnel and equipment in and out of the work area to reduce the risk of damage once the work has been completed

o Plants and factories often use their own staff to undertake this monitoring exercise, but it can be a drain on resources. By outsourcing this service, not only is the service flexible and scalable, it negates the instances when procedures are not followed One option is to train your own staff for this role. But on a large project you may need a team of entry monitors across the site

o Depending on the risk assessment, rescue services may also need to be provided to the work site

o By having a fully trained confined space rescue team on site in case of an emergency, no time is lost performing the rescue. Depending on the conditions or logistics of the site it may be difficult or impossible for the emergency services to perform a rescue
