BasketballMsu basketball is a very rich and storied program. With some of the best coaches to ever come through, along with players. Always consistently ranked in the top ten each year Michigan state is easily mentioned as one of the most elite programs in the country. Michigan state has won 2 national championships (79, 00), 13 big ten titles, and 8 final four appearances which is tied 7th all time. With 15 tournament appearances in a row it is the 3rd most longest streak in the country. Michigan state currently has 1525 wins as a program, that is currently 37th all-time and climbing.

BBALL LEGENDSErvin Magic Johnson, Greg Kelser, Draymond Green, and many others. But the best Spartan ever is by far Magic Johnson who averaged 17.0 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game as a freshman, led the Spartans to a 25-5 record the big ten title and the ncaa tourney. But only made it to the elite eight. The next season Johnson then led sparty to the national championship vs Indiana state who had a outstanding senior guard Larry bird. MSU eventually won 75–64, and Johnson was voted MVP of the final four. After two years in college, during which he averaged 17.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 7.9 assists per game, Johnson was drafted in the 1979 draft by the LA Lakers.
