MSR WhisperLite Stove - Fuels

The WhisperLite can use a variety of fuels.

It will work with a wide variety of oil based fuel including diesel, it can run on unleaded petrol or Coleman fuel and paraffin. For efficient performance only the cleanest fuels should be used.

Coleman fuel heats the water to the boil fastest followed by petrol

Petrol and diesel are wildly available but are very dirty fuels so the burner will clog up quickly

Time taken to boil 1 litre of water

Coleman fuel 3.5 minutesPetrol 4.4 minutes

The WhisperLite comes with it’s own ‘shaker’ cleaning system. Cleaning is normally needed if there is a build up of soot that blocks the vapour nozzle.Spare parts can be bought almost anywhere in the world. The stove comes with the standard 12 months warranty
