1.0 Introduction

The purpose of this method statement is to describe and define the process

flow for the installation of lifts.To ensure that the work is carried out in a

controlled and systematic manner conforming to the specific requirements.

2.0 Scope Of Work

The works covers supply,install and commissioning of the lifts.All materials

and works shall comply with the tender specifications,approved drawings and

samples.

Requirement for handing over the lift shaft(s for commencement of lift

installation are as follows !"

a #tages of floors to be handed over for lift installation shall be

scheduled in accordance with T$#%&s programme and builder master

work programme approved by 'am att #dn.%hd.

b #caffolding to be erected in the lift shaft(s.

c #eparator beams shall be installed if required.

d )rotections shall be provided to prevent seepage of water into the lift

shaft(s.

e To remove all formworks, timbers, or steel bars sticking out along the

internal shaft wall.

f To clear all debris, water and unwanted material in the lift pit(s.

g Kerbs shall be provided at every lift entrance to prevent water from

flowing into the lift shaft(s.

h Temporary power supply for lightings, power hand tools and light

power machinery shall be provided.

i *ift door opening, lift well entrance and trap door hole shall be

protected at all time during construction.

+ A covered storage area at site will be allocated to lift equipment upon

the delivery of equipment. All items shall be stacked up properly andin safest possible way during storage to keep away from rain and

ground dirt and electronic parts shall be protected from rain, dust and

dirt before installation.

The plumbing result of the lift shaft(s shall be submitted to $ain ontractor

for approval before works can further proceed. $ain ontractor shall

undertake to carry out shaft wall rectification works if any, after the approval

of plumbing result.

3.0 F,ric,tion of 4uide R,i# Br,cket - Se"uence *

3uide rail brackets shall be custom made to meet the lift shaft(s conditions

with the plumbing result approved by $ain ontractor.

5.0 Int,## ,ndin/ oor Fr,e - Se"uence 3

The landing door frame will be installed at position described in the plumbing

result approved by $ain ontractor. %efore commencement of door frame

installation, the $ain ontractor will provide inished loor *evel marked at

the lift lobby area as well as the position for mounting of the landing board

and indicator bo-es if required.

6.0 Int,## S+,ft Wirin/ - Se"uence 5

4lectrical trunkings and wirings will be installed along the shaft wall and on

the lift motor"room floor. $aterial sample will be submitted for consultant

approval. )ower cables will run in trunkings separate from that of control

cables.

7.0 Int,## M,c+ine Roo &"uipent - Se"uence 6

)rovision of access must be made available for heavy lift equipment moving

into the lift machine room. 5oisting of the lift machine and the controllers

from the ground to the building roof is by means of tower crane. The hoisting

machine weighs about 6788 kg and has to be lifted onto concrete plinths.

5oisting hooks or beams shall be provided in the lift machine room as per

T$#% drawings to facilitate the hoisting process.

$ain ontractor will continue with his work to the lift lobby wall until the

door frames. All gaps between frames and wall and between wall and

indicatorbutton bo-es has to be sealed or cement filled by the $ain

ontractor. All these are to be completed in shortest possible time to avoid

interrupting of lift installation schedule.

completion of door frame in"fill by $ain ontractor.

Assembly of lift car(s will be carried out at the lowest possible level such as

the main level. $ain ontractor has to construct the buffer plinths in the lift

pit(s prior to the assembly of car(s. ounter"weight frames and blocks will

be assembled at the highest possible level of lift shaft(s. $achine room

wiring will commence as soon as the equipment in the lift machine room is

installed in position.

13.0 Ropin/ And S+,ft &"uipent - Se"uence 1*

>nstallation of hoisting ropes shall commence as soon as the assembly of car

and counter"weight are completed.

15.0 ift Interior Fini+e - Se"uence 13

At this time, the scaffolding in the hoist"way(s should be dismantled. The lift

car(s should then be suspended via hoisting ropes and is able to move

manually by means of winding the hoisting motor in the lift machine room.

The interior finishes in the lift car shall commence before the testing andcommissioning of the lift(s.

:orks $aintenance 4ngineer

The :orks $aintenance 4ngineer is responsible for the regular e-amination of

ladders, cranes, power presses, lifting tackle, machine safety devices and

guards, electrical apparatus, plant and building repair and maintenance. Any

defective equipment, plant or machine will be withdrawn from use until

rectified.

>n accordance with ompanies #afety = 5ealth )olicy, safety representative

will be elected. 4ach representative will be consulted with a view to making and

maintaining arrangements, which will enable him and employees represented, to

co"operate effectively in prompting and developing measures to ensure the

safety and health at work of all employees and checking the effectiveness of

such measures.

The appointed #afety Representative will spend as much time as is necessary

with the agreement of management dealing with matters relating to 5ealth and

#afety of employees at work in hisher area. This will include dealing with

matters referred to himher by the employees.

The person will also be involved in!
