• A Microsoft Student Partner is a technology enthusiast who is at the forefront of exploring new technologies and sharing his or her knowledge with peers.

Desired Characteristics

• Exposure to Microsoft technologies – Examples: participation in contests or user-

groups, development on Microsoft platform, creative use of Microsoft products, etc.

• Passion for technology• Outgoing personality• High level of social activity, both online and offline• Willingness to share knowledge• Good academic scores in college

What Does an MSP Do?

• Be a Microsoft representative on your college campus• Share your knowledge on new technologies with peers

on your campus and outside• Be active on online technical forums by answering

technical queries and posting technology articles• Be the first users of beta software of the latest products

from Microsoft • Participate along with your friends in competitions such

as the Imagine Cup, etc.• Collaborate and build amazing applications that create

waves across the community; e.g. OpenXML at LinuxAsia

• Sign up an eligible department for MSDN AA• Maintain a blog• Mentor other MSPs• Out of the box activity• Produce a technology solution using Microsoft tools and

technologies• Work on technical content and presentations for use of

other MSPs• Promote MS academic projects in campus• Distribute MSDN AA DVDs• Sign up students for DSD

Activity-Tracking

• Online MSP portal• Pre-defined activities with specific points• Mandatory and optional activities• Activity-log will be monitored and, in

January, inactive MSPs will be removed from the program

• Benefits such as eligibility for becoming an MSP Lead and test/interview opportunities for internships/jobs will be based on points
