As in Garrison Keillors nave Lake Woebegone ; itsbeen a quiet week at San Luis Rey Parish. Our parishSecretary, Shirley Gonzalez, has le us for maternityleave and is expected to have her baby soon. Pleasekeep her and her li le one in your prayers. Over at theMission the new friars are se ling down. We havegrown from eight to a community of een since thebeginning of July. It is good to have new voices at prayerand at the table we are de nitely fortunate to havesuch an interes ng group of Franciscans under one roof.

The Spiritual Camp for the Hispanic Community was aresounding success last weekend. People campedoutside at the back of the Mission and engaged in groupconversa on and prayer over three days. There was funtoo and good food, as youd expect at any gathering of our La no sisters and brothers. Congratula ons andthanks to Fr. Luis, Fr. Arturo and all their fellow

organizers!Next Sunday we say farewell to our World Youth Day

Pilgrims who are off to see Pope Francis in Rio. They yoff on July 22 and will spend over a week as pilgrims withthousands of other Catholics from all over the world, cel-ebra ng faith and praying for us all. The group will jointhe assembly for Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday and re-ceive our blessing before they leave. We wish them God-speed and a blessed me in Brazil.

We wish all the young people par cipa ng in Steuben-ville - San Diego well in their weekend of prayer andpraise at USD on the last weekend of July. They too willgather with hundreds of young people from the dioceseto learn about and celebrate their Catholic faith.

Thanks to all who have made our July Pool Par es at the Mission so enjoyable! We have had two so far andit was great to see so many of our young people showup. A special thanks to Master Chef, John Arguello, forhis skills at the BBQ grill.all I can say is, yummmm!

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATIONIS JULY 2ND TO SEPTEMBER 8TH

Registration for Faith Formation requires Parish registra-tion. If you are not registered in the Parish, you may doso in the Parish office or online before enrolling in FaithFormation.

GRADES K-8th First Communion preparation may begin in the secondgrade; the preparation for the Sacrament is a two yearprocess. A copy of the childs Baptism Certificate is re-quired.

You may register your child the following ways:Fill out forms located in the Parish Office.Print out forms from our website, and then mailthem to the Parish Office with your payment.Paperless On Line Registration with Q-Pay atsanluisreyparish.org

Tuition for each student is $55. Full payment of tuitionis requested at the time of registration, if possible.

PRE-CONFIRMATION & CONFIRMATIONEligibility: To enroll a student for Confirmation they

must have been attending a Catholic Formation programor Catholic High School within the last two years and areat least 15 years of age by June 30, 2014 . Any young person not eligible to enroll at this time is directed to en-roll in the Pre-Confirmation program in order to be eligi-ble for classes the following year.

The fee for Pre-Confirmation is $55. The Registrationfee for Confirmation is still pending and will be an-nounced in a future bulletin

As como enLake Woebegone ; el lugar na vo de Garri-son Keillor. Hemos tenido una semana tranquila en laParroquia Misin San Luis Rey. Nuestra secretaria, ShirleyGonzlez, se ha tomado un empo puesto que tendr subeb en cualquier momento. Por favor mantngala a ellay a su pequeito en sus oraciones. En la Misin los frailesnuevos ya se estn instalando. Hemos crecido de unacomunidad de ocho a quince frailes desde el principio de julio. Es bueno escuchar voces nuevas en la oracin y enla mesade ni vamente somos afortunados de tenerun grupo tan interesante de franciscanos bajo el mismotecho.

El Campamento Espiritual de la semana pasada de laComunidad Hispana fue un xito rotundo. Ellos acampa-ron afuera en la parte de atrs de la Misin y par cipa-ron en grupo por tres das. Tambin hubo diversin y

buena comida, como podran esperar de cualquierreunin de nuestras hermanas y hermanos la nos.Felicitaciones y gracias al Padre Luis, Padre Arturo y atodos sus compaeros que ayudaron en la organizaron!

El prximo domingo despedimos a nuestros Peregrinosdel Da Mundial de Jvenes quienes van a ver al PapaFrancisco en Ro de Janeiro. Ellos vuelan el 22 de julio ypasaran ms de una semana como peregrinos con milesde Catlicos de todas partes del mundo, celebrando la fey orando por todos nosotros. El grupo se unir a la asam-blea en la Misa de 10:00 a.m. el domingo para recibirnuestra bendicin antes de par r. Les deseamos buenasuerte y un empo bendecido en Brasil.

Les deseamos buena suerte a todos los jvenes par ci-pando en Steubenville, San Diego en su n de semanade oracin y alabanza la l ma semana de julio en la Uni-versidad de San Diego. Ellos tambin se reunirn concientos de jvenes de la dicesis para aprender y cele-brar su fe Catlica.
