Carefully read this instruction manual before attempting to operate this compressor.

Please familiarize yourself with the following information to prevent damage to your compressor, injury or death to theoperator, or property damage.

1. IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARDNever use the compressor without it being connected to a properly grounded outlet with the specified voltage and fuseprotection. Do not use the compressor in a wet or explosive environment. Never attempt to perform maintenance or makeadjustments with the power connected or the equipment in operation.

TANK PRESSURE ASME SAFETY VALVEThis valve is factory installed to prevent damage or overpressurization should a malfunction occur with the pressure switch. It isfactory set at a specific limit for your particular model and should never be tampered with. Any adjustment by the user willautomatically void the warranty and could cause serious injury or death. (Figure 3)PRESSURE SWITCHThe air pressure switch is set at the factory for optimum performance of your particular model. Never bypass, tamper with, orremove this switch as serious damage to the equipment or personal injury could result from excessive pressure. Thesends the electrical supply to the . Air compressors get hot while in operation.Never touch the motor, discharge tubing, or compressorpump while in operation. The compressor operatesautomatically while the power is on.Never operate the compressor with the belt guard removed.

COMPRESSED AIR CAUTIONCompressed air from the unit may contain carbon monoxide.Air produced is not suitable for breathing purposes.Always use a respirator when spraying paint or chemicals.

Always wear safety glasses or goggles when using compressed air.AIR RECEIVER

Over pressurizing the air receiver could cause an explosion or rupture. Do not remove any air receiver partunder pressure.To protect from over pressurizing, a factory preset pressure ASME safety valve has been installed. DO NOT

REMOVE, MAKE ADJUSTMENTS OR SUBSTITUTIONS FOR THIS VALVE. Occasionally pull the ring on the valve tomake sure that the valve operates freely. If the valve does not operate freely, it must be replaced.NEVER WELD TO, DRILL, or CHANGE THE AIR RECEIVER IN ANY WAY. Any modification to the tank is dangerous and

will result in voiding the manufacturer's warranty.Be advised that any replacement parts used on the compressor must be factory authorized equipment. Please contact theauthorized dealer for replacement parts and specifications.

2. GENERAL INFORMATION

Depending on the C.F.M. requirement of the tools being operated, your new air compressor can be used for operating paintsprayers, air tools, grease guns, air brushes, caulking guns, inflating tires and plastic toys. An air pressure regulator is usuallynecessary for most of these applications and will increase the life of the compressor.3. GENERAL OPERATION DESCRIPTION

To compress air, the piston moves up and down in the cylinder. During the downstroke, air is drawn in through the inlet valve. Thedischarge valve remains closed. During the upstroke of the piston, air is compressed. The inlet valve closes and compressed air isforced out through the discharge valve, through the check valve and into air receiver. Working air is not available until thecompressor has raised the air receiver pressure above that required at the air service connection. The air inlet filter must be keptclear of obstructions and clean to avoid reduced air delivery from the compressor.

1. INSTALLATION

For stationary type only

Locate the compressor in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area.The compressor should be located 800mm away from walls or any other obstruction that wouldinterfere with the air flow through the pump flywheel. Place the compressor on a firm, levelsurface. The compressor is designed with heat dissipation fins which allow for proper cooling.Keep the fins and other parts that collect dust clean. A clean compressor runs cooler andprovides longer service. The air temperature shall not be below 32 F (0 C) or exceed 104 F(40 C).

For permanent installation, the compressor can be bolted to the floor through holes provided inthe compressor feet. Shims and vibration dampeners must be used to level the compressorbefore bolting it to the floor. Severe vibration will result when the compressor is bolted downtightly and the feet are not level. This can lead to welds cracking or fatigue failure of the airreceiver.

This product is for use a nominal 120-volt or 240-volt circuit and has a grounding plug that lookslike the plug illustrated in Figure 6. Make sure that the product is connected to an outlet havingthe same configuration as the plug. No adapter should be used with this product.Use only a 3-wire extension cord that has a 3-blade grounding plug, and a 3-slot receptacle (pin)that will accept the plug on the product. Make sure your extension cord is in good condition.When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current yourproduct will draw. For lengths less than 8 meter. No.16 AWG extension cords should be used.

An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss ofpower and overheating.

4. COMPRESSOR LUBRICATION

OIL CAPACITY: 500 ml

NOTE: CHECK THE OIL LEVEL AND QUALITY BEFORE OPERATING THE COMPRESSOR.DO NOT ADD OR CHANGE OIL WHILE THE COMPRESSOR IS IN OPERATION.USE ONLY THE RECOMMENDED SAE 30 WEIGHT NON-DETERGENT COMPRESSOR OIL.

2. GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

Danger

This product should be grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock byproviding an escape wire for the electric current. This product is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with an appropriategrounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codesand ordinances.

Improper installation of the grounding plug can result in a risk of electric shock. If repair or replacement ofthe cord or plug is necessary, do not connect the grounding wire to either flat blade terminal. The wire withinsulation having an other surface that is green with or without yellow stripes is the grounding wire.

Check with a qualified electrician or serviceman if the grounding instructions are not completely understood, or if in doubt as towhether the product is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided; if it will not fit the outlet, have the proper outlet installedby a qualified electrician.

3. STORAGE

3.1 When the product is not in use, storage indoor and roll up the cord set in the cord storage like illustrated in Figure 7.

5. BEFORE OPERATING THE AIR COMPRESSOR, PLEASE CHECK THE FOLLOWING POINTS CAREFULLY:1.2.3.4.

Check to see that nuts and bolts are all snug. (SEE TABLE 4), position drawing page 8.Check to see if the belt is installed properly, with proper tension.Check belt tightness so that when pressure is applied at the center, there is 1/2" slack. (Figure 10)To check belt pressure:Procedures to remove the belt guard:

Procedures to assemble the belt guard:

- Be sure the compressor is off;- Loosen the set, by partially slackening (5 turns) Torx A1 and A2 bolts of the attaching plate;- Remove the two bolts (5/16") B1 and B2 that attach the guard to the cylinder cover;- Pull the guard upward;- Inspect the belt tension and the pulley and flywheel alignment, according to figures 10 and 11;

- Position the belt guard in such a way that its rear part fits between the plate and the compressor's base A A.- Partially fasten bolts B1 and B2- Fasten the attaching plate's bolts.- Finish fastening bolts B1 and B2 and see table 4 regarding the torque to be applied.- After that, turn the flywheel by using the bolt driver's own bar and check if it is rotating freely. In case it is not, correct it.

68. MAINTENANCEBefore doing any maintenance or adjustments to your air compressor, the following safety precautions should be taken:

- DISCONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER- DRAIN AIR RECEIVER OF PRESSURE

- Check oil level (Figure 12).- Drain condensation from tank (Figure 13).

Never attempt to open the drain petcock when more than 10 psig (0.7 bar) of air pressure is in the tank.- Check for any unusual noise or vibration.- Be sure that all nuts and bolts are tight.

- Clean air filter by opening air filter cap, removing filter element and cleaning it thoroughly (Figure 14). Clean it using amaximum pressure of 30 psig (2.0 bar). Do not wash the element.

- Worn filter elements should be replaced.

- Adjust belt tension (Figure 10) if needed and replace belt if worn.- Inspect air system for leaks by applying soapy water to all joints.- Tighten those joints if leakages are observed.

- Change compressor oil.- Change oil often if compressor is used near paint spraying operations or in dusty environments.

No debe eliminarlo, alterarloni removerlo, pues el exceso de presin podr causar serios daos al equipo o fisicos. El cable elctrico envia corriente a elpresostato cuando la palanca del mismo est en la posicin "AUTO" (Figura 2), la corriente alimenta el motor elctrico, que estprotegido contra sobrecargas elctricas, por uno protector trmico (boton de mano rojo reset) derestabelecimiento de corriente elctrica.MOTOR ELCTRICO Y COMPRESOR

El compresor de aire se mantiene caliente mientras opera. Nunca toque en el motor, tubo de descarga delcompresor mientras est operando. El compresor opera automticamente cuando est conectado. Nunca opereel compresor sin la proteccin de la correa.

CUIDADOS CON LA COMPRESIN DE AIREEl aire comprimido que viene de la unidad puede contener monxido de carbono.El aire producido no es recomendable para ser respirado.Use siempre mscara para respirar cuando rocie pintura o productos qumicos.

Use siempre lentes de seguridad o lentes con protectores cuando use aire comprimido.RESERVATORIO (TANQUE) DE AIRE

No remueva piezas del tanque cuando este con presin. Una sobrepresin en el reservatorio (tanque) deaire puede provocar una explosin o ruptura del mismo.

Para protejer el reservatorio (tanque) de aire de esta sobrepresin ha sido instalada en la fbrica una vlvula de seguridadASME. Esta vlvula no debe ser removida, o recibir ajustes o substituciones. Ocasionalmente accione el anillo de la vlvulapara tener certeza que la vlvula est operando libremente. (Figura 3) Si la vlvula no opera libremente deber sersubstituda.

NUNCA SOLDE, PERFORE O CAMBIE EL RESERVATORIO (TANQUE) DE AIRE POR OUTRO CUALQUIERA. Cualquiermodificacin en el RESERVATORIO (TANQUE) DE AIRE es peligrosa y resultar en invalidez de la garanta del fabricante.Queda advertido que cualquier substitucin de componentes en el equipo debe ser autorizado por el fabricante. 2. INFORMACIONES GENERALES

3. DESCRIPCIN GENERAL DE LA OPERACIN

Dependiendo de los Pies Cbicos por Minuto exigidos por las herramientas a ser usadas, su nuevo compresor de airepuede ser usado para accionar rociadores de pintura, herramientas neumticas, pistolas de grasa, pistolas de pintura,pistolas de arremachar o calafatear, inflar neumticos y juguetes de plstico. Generalmente es necesario un regulador depresin de aire para muchas de estas aplicaciones lo que aumentar la vida til del compresor.

Para comprimir el aire, el pistn sube y baja dentro del cilindro. Durante la carrera de bajada, el aire es aspirado a travs dela vlvula de admisin. La vlvula de descarga permanece cerrada. Durante la carrera de subida del pistn, el aire escomprimido. La vlvula de admisin se cierra y el aire comprimido es forzado a salir a travs de la vlvula de descarga y dela vlvula de retencin, hasta entrar en el reservatorio (tanque) de aire. El aire estar disponible para el trabajo cuando elcompresor levante la presin en el reservatorio (tanque) de aire a la presin necesaria para servicio. El aire que entra en elfiltro debe mantenerse libre de obstrucciones y limpio para evitar reducir el aire de descarga del compresor.

ATENCIN!

1. INSTALACIN

Solamente para tipos estacionario

Instale el compresor en una rea limpia, seca y bien ventilada.El compresor deber estar localizado con un espacio libre de 30 pulgadas (800 mm) de eventualesparedes o cualquier otra obstruccin que pudiera interferir con el flujo de aire bombeado por elvolante. Coloque el compresor en una superficie firme y nivelada. El compresor est diseado condisipadores de calor de aletas que permiten la propia refrigeracin. Mantenga las aletas y otraspartes del compresor siempre limpias. El compresor limpio tiene mayor vida til. La temperaturaatmosfrica no debe ser abajo de 32 F (0 C) o exceder 104 F (40 C).

Para instalaciones fijas, el compresor deber ser atornillado al piso a travs de orificios ya previstosen el pie del compresor. Antes de atornillar el compresor al suelo, pueden ser utilizadas lminaspara nivelarlo y amortiguadores de vibracin. Si el compresor no est bien atornillado y biennivelado resultar en fuertes vibraciones. Esto puede inducir a grietas en las soldaduras o fallas porfatiga en el reservatorio (tanque) de aire.

Este producto es para uso en tensin nominal 120-volt o 240-volt y debe tener la ficha conaterramiento como lo ilustrado en la Figura 6. Atento para que lo enchufe sea de la mismaconfiguracin de la ficha. Ninguno adaptador debe ser usado con este producto.Use apenas extensin con 3 cables y con fichas y enchufes con 3 espigas conforme aceptado porlo producto. Atento para usar extensiones en buenas condiciones. Deben ser usadas extensionesno mayores que 8 metros, n 16 AWG.

Extensiones mayores pueden causar tensin baja resultando en queda depotencia y acalentura.

4. LUBRICACIN DEL COMPRESOR

NOTA: VERIFIQUE LA CALIDAD Y EL NIVEL DE ACEITE ANTES DE OPERAR EL COMPRESOR. NO ADICIONE OCAMBIE ACEITE MIENTRAS EL COMPRESOR EST EN OPERACIN. USE SOLAMENTE EL ACEITE RECOMENDADOPARA COMPRESORES SAE 30 SIN DETERGENTES.

Este producto debe ser aterrado. En el caso de un corto circuito elctrico, el aterramientoreduce el riesgo de choque elctrico, a travs de un cable de descarga de la corrienteelctrica.Este producto es equipado con un cable de ligacin a un enchufe que est adecuadamenteinstalado y aterrada de acuerdo con todas las normas locales.

La instalacin inadecuada del conector de aterramiento puede resultar en riesgo de choque elctrico. Sihaya la necesidad de substituicin o reparo del cable o del conector, no conecte el conector deaterramiento a un terminal plano.

El cable, cuya superficie externa es verde, con o sin lista amarillas, es el cable de aterramiento.Caso tenga dudas cuanto a estas informaciones o si el producto est correctamente aterrado, consulte un electricista calificado. Nocambie el conector; si el no se adecuar al enchufe, providenciar la instalacin del enchufe correcto, hecha por un electricistacalificado.

Cuando lo producto no est en uso, rmasele en puesto cubierto y enrolle el cable en el pega mano (mango) como muestrala Figura 7.

ANTES DE OPERAR EL COMPRESOR DE AIRE, POR FAVOR VERIFIQUE CUIDADOSAMENTE LOS SIGUIENTESPUNTOS

Verifique si todos los tornillos y tuercas estn apretados (vea tabla 4), posicin diseo pgina 16Verifique si la correa est instalada adecuadamente con la tensin correctaVerifique la tensin de la correa de tal forma que al aplicar una presin en el centro, la misma sufra una deflexin de 1/2".(Figura 10)

- Certifquese que el compresor est desconectado;- Suelte el conjunto, aflojando parcialmente (5 vueltas) los tornillos Torx A1 y A2 de la regla de fijacin;- Retire los dos pernos (5/16") B1 e B2 que fijan el protector a la tapa del cilindro;- Puje el protector hacia arriba;- Inspeccione la tensin de la correa y el alineamiento del volante de la polea, conforme figura 10 y 11 o otro servicio de

mantenimiento que se haga necesario al compresor;

- Coloque el protector de la correa de tal forma que la parte posterior encaje entre la regla y la base del compresor. A A.- Fije los dos pernos B1 y B2 parcialmente- Apriete los pernos de la regla de fijacin.- Concluya el aprieto de los pernos B1 y B2, y vea la tabla 4 que se refiere al torque que debe ser aplicado.- Despus gire el volante, utilizando el propio hazte del destornillador verificando que

est girando libre, caso est tocando algn punto del protector, corrija esta falla.

8. MANTENIMIENTOAntes de hacer cualquier mantenimiento o ajustes en su compresor de aire, deben ser tomadas las siguientes precauciones deseguridad:

A.- Verifique nivel de aceite (Figura 12).

Drene el condensado del reservatorio (tanque) de aire (Figura 13) cuando la presin es 10 psig (0,7 bar) en el tanqueVerifique cualquier ruido o vibracin extraaAsegrese que todas las tuercas y tornillos estn aprietados

- Limpie el filtro de aire abriendo la tapa del filtro y removiendo el elemento filtrante para limpiar totalmente con aire (Figura14) con una presin mxima de 30 psig (2,0 bar).

- Elemento de filtro damnificado debe ser substituido.

- Ajuste la tensin de la correa (Figura 10) si es necesario y substityala si la correa est damnificada.- Inspeccione el sistema de aire buscando escapes en todas las juntas con una mezcla de agua y jabn.- Re-apriete todas aquellas juntas que presentaron escapes.

- Cambie el aceite del compresor.- Reemplcelo antes si el compresor es usado cerca de operaciones con pintura rociada o en ambientes con polvo.

Cuando el aire en el tanque llegar a la presinmxima de ajuste, el presostato apaga el motor alctrico y la vlvula de retencin si cerraEl aire comprimido que quedou en la tuberia de descarga del cabezal sale a travs de la vlvula de descarga ubicada en elpresostato, entonces el motor elctrico pode partir novamente sin carga cuando solicitado.

El "Fabricante" garante este equipo al Comprador original contra defectos de materiales y de fabricacin para uso normal por elperodo de un ao a partir de la fecha de compra.Este Trmino de la Garanta estar limitado a reparos o substitucin de cualquier componente o componentes, solamente con elparecer del Fabricante. Si eventualmente el defecto de material o de fabricacin est dentro del perodo de los Trminos de estaGaranta, el Comprador deber retornar al Centro de Servicio de Garanta del Fabricante, pagar los costos de devolucin flete delequipo y ser solicitado el documento con la fecha de compra del equipo defectuoso o de cualquier otro producto asociado con lareclamacin de Garanta.Este Trmino de Garanta no cubre, fallas en este equipo, causadas por accidentes, incluyendo maltrato o abuso, daos o defectosde equipos devueltos por estar en embalajes inadecuados o reparaciones impropias efectuadas por otros.El Fabricante se reserva el derecho de definir si el defecto ser cubierto por este Trmino de Garanta.Si el Fabricante determina que el equipo no est cubierto por este Trmino de Garanta, entonces el Comprador tendr dosalternativas:(1) Aceptar la devolucin del equipo o (2) El Fabricante repara el equipo substituyndolo o recondicionndolo de acuerdo con lasnormas de reparaciones usuales y los costos de las eventuales substituciones sern por cuenta del comprador.

Esta Garanta constituye el acuerdo entre Fabricante y el primer Comprador del producto y ningn representante o agente estautorizado a alterar los trminos del mismo sin el expreso consentimiento por escrito del Fabricante.Diseos y fotos unicamente orientativos.Nota: Schulz S.A. se reserva el derecho de hacer alteraciones sin prvio aviso.

Este Trmino de Garanta considera sin efecto otras Garanta, explcita o implcitamente, incluyendo todas las otrasGarantas de Mercantibilidad y conveniencia para propsito y uso particular .El Comprador acepta que nica y exclusivamente se efecten reparaciones o substituciones en las piezas con defectos defabricacin. El Comprador, fuera de eso, estar de acuerdo con que no habr otras reparaciones a incluir, sin lmites,debido a accidentes o daos por consecuencia de mal uso, extravos, daos o perjuicios a personas o propiedad, ocualquier outro accidente o consequente prdida deber estar sujeta a esta situacin. Y, en momento algn, laresponsabilidad del Fabricante por cualquier dao deber ser limitada y no deber exceder el precio del equipo.

Regule la presin de aire, puede estar muy elevada.

Tensione correctamnete la correa.

Encamnelo al tcnico del servicio autorizado.

Efecte el alineamiento de la polea del motor ajustandola posicin del motor elctrico.

Limpie o substituya el filtro.
