Formula One, also known as Formula 1 or F1 and referred to
officially as the FIA Formula One World Championship, is the highest
class of single seater auto racing sanctioned by the Fdration
Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA)
The F1 season consists of a series of races, known as Grands Prix (in
English, Grand Prizes), held on purpose-built circuits and public roads
The results of each race are combined to determine two annual World
Championships, one for the drivers and one for the constructors
Formula One cars race at speeds of up to 360 km/h (220 mph) with
engines limited in performance to a maximum of 18,000 revolutions
per minute (RPM)
A Formula One Grand Prix event spans a weekend
A qualifying session is held after the last free practice session. This
session determines the starting order for the race on Sunday
The race begins with a warm-up lap, after which the cars assemble on
the starting grid in the order they qualified.

Hypothesis
NULL HYPOTHESIS:
There are no variables that influence the winning of a particular driver in a race
ALTERNATE HYPOTHESIS:
There are various factors that influence the winning of a particular driver in a
race
Trial and error
Collection of previous 10 year data points based on the grid positions for
each team
Learning Process began where we failed to achieve a strong model

Creation of a Stronger
Model
Statistical data of a particular driver was picked
Eliminated the error of a logical reasoning and increased the reliability
of the data to generate relationship with the variables
Statistical data of racing legend Ayrton Senna was collected Variables influencing to win a race include:
o PointsPoints won each season
o Points RankDriver rankings at the end of the season
o Average FinishAverage of the races completed per season
o Average GridAverage of grid positions per season
o StartNumber of starts in each seasono PolesStarting the race from grid position 1

Result of the Analysis
We fail to accept the Null Hypothesis since there is aclear relationship between the outcome of the race to
the factors influencing the race results
High Coefficient of determination(R) amounts to thevariability in our data explained by the regression
model

Predictive Decisions and business
aspects by Teams Each team in the FIA emphasizes on the variables used in the
analysis to get the best results from their drivers in order to win
the Constructors Championship trophy
Money Talks: Entering a new team in the Formula One WorldChampionship requires a 25 million (about US$47 million)
up-front payment to the FIA
Each point earned in a race by teams is worth hundreds of
thousands of dollars
To finish a race with points is the utmost goal for all emerging
teams
