MASTER PROGRAMME WITHOUT THESIS Programme : Master of Computer Science
Introduction
The Master of Computer Science without thesis is a 36 credits post graduateprogramme by coursework. It offers an opportunity for advanced studies andcareer development in the field of computer science. The objective of thisprogramme is to produce graduates with new technology in the field ofcomputer science. Entrance Requirement
1 a) Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science orequivalents and obtained at least CGPA 2.500 from UPM or otheruniversities recognized by UPM.
2 b) Applicants with a CGPA less than 2.500 may be considered if theyhave at least 3 years working experience in the related field.
Programme Offered by Semester First Semester of every year. Programme Requirement a) Credit Requirement for Graduation
In order to graduate, students must have achieved at least 36 credits.The minimum cumulative average is 3.0. The minimum creditdistribution for this programme is as follows:
Compulsory courses 24 credits * Elective courses 6 credits * Project 6 credits
Total 36 credits
Note : * for Distributed Computing Compulsory courses 27 credits Elective courses 3 credits

Project will be implemented over two semesters, which is (2+4=6). Thestudents have to prepare a complete proposal in the second semesterof the final year and must be submitted to the supervisor before thebeginning of the final semester. Evaluation towards the proposal is 33%of the overall mark. An ‘S’ grade-Continue will be assigned to thatsemester and will be replaced with a final grade upon completion of theproject at the end of the following semester.

International Students – as above with additional RM1000.00 per semester.
1 b) Credit Fee
The credit fee is RM250.00 for each credit with the total amount isRM9000.00 for all the 36 credits.
