The purpose of the study was to assess the effectivenessof progressive muscle relaxation technique on anxiety, in

terms of practice among old age people in a selected

community areas at Guntur. The pretest was conducted

and the score was inadequate. So it highlights the need for education and the researcher has conducted

progressive muscle relaxation technique teaching &

    demonstration programme. After progressive muscle

relaxation technique of teaching & demonstration themean post-test showed adequate practice that proved the

effectiveness of progressive muscle relaxation technique.
