Inventory Overview

The Process

• Set Up using Reports• Scan using Inventory Item Wizard in the

“Special” Wizard Group

• Reports to help find missed items• Discard missing materials

Set Up Options

• Should we run a report to inventory items that are checked out, or would you rather catch them as they are returned?

• Do you want to reset your inventory to 0 and last inventory date to NEVER or do you like to keep a history?

• Inventory everything or work in sections?

Reports

• Before you begin scanning – reset inventory and inventory checked out items

• After you scan-looking for items not scanned, moving missing items to Discard

Items not Inventoried

• After the report is run, do one more check for these if you wish

• Scan what you find using the Inventory Items Wizard

• Anything left over – decide how to deal with these items

Missing Items Options

• Manually scan using the Mark Item Missing Wizard

• Check items out to Missing User (“Trace” for Partner libraries)

• Remove from system using Discard-report can move these items and then they will be discarded at the beginning of the next month

Mobile Circ

• Use a mobile device and wireless scanner to inventory items without taking them back to your desk

• Turn off “check shelving order” to speed up the process

Mobile Circ and Weeding

• I know it isn’t *exactly* inventory

• Deselect feature is now working

• Set your dusty date and max circs, limit by current location

• View list and mark items discard or missing from the app
