• I have chosen to do a print based course work of a magazine front page and double page feature article.

• Pink Back ground connotes Femininity• Model in front of title shows importance and as its a celebrity to attracts
the reader.• Back Title connotes scandal which attracts the target audience. • The copy relate to women as they are about appealing to men and ways to
look better. “what men crave in July”, “His 6 secret sex spots” etc. • Main sell line is personal to audience• Choice of model attracts audience as

• Large picture of Rihanna back, shows tattoos, gives audience a person view of her body.
• Quote of Rihanna – Gives an insight of what is involved in the interview.
• Larger Subtitles intrigues the audience and makes it easier to follow.
• Picture of quiz that has hand written answers gives a personal touch and gives the audience the connection to Rihanna.
• Baby picture helps audience connect with Rihanna • Red hair and Nails represents sensuality
and seduction.

• Title – Red = bold, masculine colour, straight simple font connotes masculinity • Price, in multiple countries, issue number and website above the title, only
price is clearly legible. • Model image of attractive white female in lingerie revealing a lot of breast.
Entices target audience. • Copy’s are about attractive women and mechanics. Stereotypically masculine
subjects.“The worlds stupidest vehicles”, “New 194mph Porsche.” “Rosie & Kaylee’s Valentine strip
• Under heading there is “BRITAINS BIGGEST SELLING MEN’S WEEKLY” emphasises Biggest suggests best and most popular, suggest to men that its less perverted.
• Main sell line is “BRITAIN’S 50 SEXIEST SINGLE BABES! Gents, these ladies need you”. Boosts audiences self esteem, attracts target audience.
• Pictures of famous attractive people entices the audience • Also a banner at top of the page which suggest that it is important and exiting. • Demographics : C2, D, E. not massively educated• Psychographics : Strugglers • Target Audience : Male, age 16 – 35, Single• Nuts – Slang for part of the male genitalia.

• Mid shot Photograph of model, emphasising the breast • Model looking straight into the camera, flirtatious and
sexual. • Quote, entices the audience and makes them read all
interview. • Red Bra connotes sensuality• 2nd page long shot of model in lingerie, posing in front of
a bed, entices audience and connotes a sexual innuendo to the picture.
• Subtitles attract the audience to read the answer e.g. “Gemma on..... Her Gigantic Boobs”
• Mostly pictures, little but simply laid out writing, emphasises demographics and appeals to its target audience as its simple to read.

Heat 2 Page Spread
• Picture is a shot from the film, target audience is fans of Twilight
• Use only the 2 main characters – iconography of Twilight are Robert Patterson and Kristen Stewart.
• “Ruddy Nora” grabs readers attention and suggests the story is shocking and interesting.
• Use words like “Glorious” positively advertises the film. • Tells reader what the film is called, plot line and when you
can see it. Convention of the Magazine. • Also pokes fun at the actor and film “Robert Patterson is
wearing more make up than Kristen” not conventional of the magazine as its mean to be positively advertising the film
• Mostly blue colour which is conventially masculine, which is not conventional as the target audience is mostly female however Light blue is associated with health, healing, tranquillity, understanding, and softness.

• Long shot of Lady Gaga, wearing dress of “Bubbles” – sensual, eye catching.
• Lady Gaga is a popular singer/song writer who is well known for her outlandish and odd clothing, so the cover shows off the personality of Lady Gaga.
• In front of the Title shows she is the main sell of the magazine. • In Copy, “Lady Gaga” is the biggest text on the cover, shows
the importance of the artist. • Most copy's about music and music shows e.g. MTV which is
conventional as its a music magazine. • Also talks about typical lifestyle of Celebrities e.g. Gym,
Hangover, Cigarettes, Twitter etc. • Majority pink colour, connotes femininity, which works with
the picture as they are using an attractive female blonde model.
• Not convention of Lady Gaga as she is well known for going against conventions of modern society.

• Little writing so audience can focus on the picture• many other models in the picture, male and female
all naked covered in soap and bubbles,• All other models laying down, only Gaga stood
showing dominance and focusing the shot on her, looking like they are worshipping her.
• Long shot, pink light - sensual femininity and Love relates to image.
• Writing talks about Lady Gaga “Worships Warhol, kisses Girls for Real... Etc” relates to shoot as there are naked women, Andrew Warhol is known for bright colours and iconic imagery.
• Also a line about her career which related the piece back to music.
