INTRODCUTION
At University of Karachi (Department of Computer Science) out team wants to
organize online examination test. The purpose of on-line test simulator is to take
online test in an efficient manner and no time wasting for checking the paper. The
main objective of on-line test simulator is to efficiently evaluate the candidate
thoroughly through a fully automated system that not only saves lot of time but also
gives fast results. For students they give papers according to their convenience and
time and there is no need of using extra thing like paper, pen etc. The project
proposed here is designed to expand the efforts in a more coordinated manner. The
hope is that we can develop a campus-wide, secure, web-based system that will make
the process of examination more efficient and secure.
PURPOSE
This Web Application provides facility to conduct online
examination world-wide.
It saves time as it allows number of students to give the exam at a
time and displays the results as the test gets over, so no need to
wait for the result. It is automatically generated by the server. Administrator has a privilege to create, modify and delete the test
papers and its particular questions.
User can register, login and give the test with his specific id, and
can see the results as well.
SCOPEScope of this project is very broad in terms of other manually taking exams.
Few of them are:-
This can be used in educational institutions as well as in corporate
world.
Can be used anywhere any time as it is a web based application.
User Location doesnt matter).
No restriction that examiner has to be present when the candidate takes the
test.
FEATURES Secure Easy to use

Reliable and accurate
No need of examiner
Technologies usedThis project is a web application that is developed in ASP.NET
having DB2 as back end.
1. Database Design (SQL server)
2. Input Design (ASP.NET)
3. Coding (C #)
Feasibility StudyWhat are the users demonstrable needs?
User needs a web-based system, which will remove all the above-mentioned
Problems that, the user is facing. The user wants a web-based system, which
will reduce the bulk of paperwork, provide ease of work, flexibility, fast
record finding, modifying, adding, removing and generating the reports.
How can the problem be redefined?
We proposed our perception of the system, in accordance with the problems
of existing system by making a full layout of the system on paper. We talliedthe problems and needs by existing system and requirements. We were further
updating in the layout in the basis of redefined the problems. In feasibility
study phase we had undergone through various steps, which are described as
under:
How feasible is the system proposed? This was analyzed by comparing the
following
factors with both the existing system and proposed system.
CostThe cost required in the proposed system is comparatively less to the existing
system.
EffortCompared to the existing system the proposed system will provide a better
working environment in which their will be ease of work and the effort
required will be comparatively less than the existing system

Time
Also the time required generating a report or for doing any other work will be
comparatively very less than in the existing system. Record finding and
updating will take less time than the existing system.
Labor
In the existing system the number of staff required for completing the work is
more while the new system will require quite less number of staff.
Specification Report
System Interface
Application would be a self-contained system. It will not
access data of any
other application nor will other application have access to its
data.
User Interface
Application will be accessed through a Browser Interface. The interface
Would be viewed best using 1024 x 768 and 800 x 600 pixels resolution
Setting. The software would be fully compatible with Microsoft Internet
Explorer 9 and Chrome, Safari etc. No user would be able to access any part
of the application without logging on to the system.

Time Line
We will maintain the projects every talk in milestones. There are the following
phases which would be documented as they are being completed.
In the first step we acquire both functional and non-functional requirements
from user and system developers.
After completing the requirement model analyzing of the project would be
started. In this phase the technology, the team, environment would be selected.
Development would be started then.
Testing period, and at last the deliverable of the project would be submitted to
client.
Every team member would work parallel, and provide each of their milestone to
make update the project.
Anticipated Outcomes
These are the following anticipated outcomes
This MIS will help to manage information more accurately.
It will increase maintainability of information.
It will provide user to attend his own exam seperatly. Teacher would have facility to check these papers, through computer.
Application would facilitate students, teachers both.
The use of invigilator wouldnt require.
COST
The cost of the project would be dependent on futures rates in industry. The
application would be given a cost after suggesting the cost of developers and other
staff members.

How we avoid or mitigate this risk factors
Organizational constraint
It can be removed if the management is powerful who is giving the order for
the project and have the power to implement the without taking care what the
employees think about the project as compare to what is better for the
organization.
Budget:
It most likely come in government organization because they normally
reversed the projects of their predecessors one so to avoid it a signed
undertaken by all stakeholders that the project funding never stops what so
ever.
Natural Disaster:
The chances of this are very rare but it is quite impossible to avoid instead of
creating a backup project plan and choosing the place for the project which is
less susceptible to natural disaster
