Ms. Kate Delahunty’s & Ms. Heena Sharma’s visit to CCT

An official visit to SCO region by Ms. Kate Delahunty, SVP, Corporate Communications, DP World HO accompanied by Ms. Heena Sharma, General Manager, Corporate Communications, SCO Region and were hosted by Mr. Ennarasu Karunesan, CEO & Director, CCTL along with team CCTL on 5th January 2015. They were accorded a traditional welcome and in pursuance of the DP World spirit of “Green Policy” terminals the esteemed visitors planted saplings.

Further they were conducted on a tour of the terminal facilities and further to apprise them of the ground realities prevailing in Chennai trade the trip was extended to Ernavur Junction. The external areas & CFS locations visited was facilitated for a first hand view on the last mile connectivity developments. A detailed presentation on the 13 year journey of CCTL since inception along with an video on connectivity issues prevailing externally along with updates on the solutions derived as on date was highlighted by the CEO. He remarked on the ambition of making CCTL as a self sustaining terminal in terms of energy requirements and the energy consumption being possibly met through harnessing sea-wave energy.

Ms. Kate shared the key focus areas of Corporate Communications for 2015 with the CCTL team as 1) Crisis Management 2) Employee Communication 3) Corporate Responsibility and 4) Innovations. Clarifying the queries on the aforesaid focus areas Ms. Kate shared further information on the future plans of the management at Dubai.

Further the itinerary included discussions with the Chennai Port Trust Chairman to update port related developments and the future road map as perceived by the port authorities.
