Safety Update Pre-K3, Pre-K4, Kindergarten and First Grade parents have already obtained their badges. As you pick up your badges, please wear your badge anytime you're on the SJA campus. For identification purposes, this procedure includes drop-off and pick-up times if you're on school grounds. When volunteering during the school day, you must still sign in the main office and print a sticker badge in order to have an official record you are on our campus and for general safety purposes. St. Joan of Arc Catholic School’s reaccreditation visit was on November

16-18, 2011. Therefore, St. Joan’s recently had its third year reaccreditation review on

Monday, February 22, 2016, at the Diocese of Palm Beach

Pastoral Center.

Mr. Gelo, the Diocese of Palm Beach Superintendent, and Mrs. Privuznak, the Diocese of Palm Beach Associate Superintendent, and Mrs. Camp, the

Florida Catholic Conference Associate Director, met with Ms. Kac,

Individualized Reading Teacher, Miss Hiponia, Assistant Principal,

and Mrs. Roberts, Principal, to discuss major changes that have taken place

since the last visit in 2011.

The team proudly provided updates on the following: student demographics,

facility, progress with School Improvement Plan Goals relating to

spelling, math computation, and study skills. The SJA School Improvement

Plan Team also presented key strengths and opportunities for growth in the following domains: Mission and

Catholic Identity, Governance and Leadership, Academic Excellence, and

Operational Vitality. Lastly, the committee shared its proposed plan

for the second half of the reaccreditation cycle which includes further strengthening and formalizing

its schoolwide writing program. The presentation was very

well-received. The administration and faculty look

forward to obtaining a Florida Catholic Conference follow-up letter.

Catholic High School Scholarship for Girls

The Palm Beach Diocesan Council of

Catholic Women is accepting applications for its Annual Scholarship

Award. One thousand dollars is awarded to each of the three,

Catholic, female students graduating from eighth grade who will attend a

Catholic High School in the Diocese of Palm Beach in the fall. The deadline is April 1, 2016. You can download the application from the PBDCCW

We are a nut free school PK-3 thru 8th grade

NO products that contain nuts, traces of nuts, or manufactured in a facility

that may contain nuts will be allowed. This policy pertains to snacks, lunch,

and birthday treats. Dunkin Donuts is NOT ALLOWED

due to possible cross-contamination.

For birthday class celebrations, please ensure that you bring

the nut free birthday treat to your homeroom teacher in the morning,

not during lunch. Also, parents must notify homeroom teacher a week prior

to the planned celebration. This procedure will help keep our students with severe allergies and

Type 1 diabetes safe!
