•My husband and I have 2 boys; Trent and Cole

•This is my 10th year teaching.

•I have experience in grades 2-8! This will be my fifth year in 4th grade!

lease join PTA!! Remember that it is necessary to join PTA each school year.  The cost is $6 per adult. 

•By joining the PTA, you are supporting the NFP staff and students.  The PTA uses your money for teacher classroom grants, to bring in a variety of cultural arts events, to support technology at the school, to provide instructional resources for all teachers, and to provide a variety of family fun events throughout the school year (including the Spring Falcon Fest) just to name a few.  Thanks in advance for your support of the wonderful NFP PTA.

NFP School SOAR Plan•Students are expected to show proper behavior inside and outside the classroom. Students earn “Falcon Tickets” for meeting these behavior expectations. The students will be allowed to redeem their “Falcon Tickets” for prizes throughout the year.

•Minor and Major referrals will look different this year. All referrals are done on the computer and parents receive a printout.

• I will give “warnings” to students not following SOAR Expectations in the classroom. After 3 warnings I will notify you via e-mail or phone call. I also use Minor/Major referrals when necessary.

Work Rubric

Daily Work and Homework

•Name and date on all assignments

•Neat handwriting and drawings

•Work is completed independently

•Clean wrinkle free paper

•Classroom assignments completed on loose leaf paper or notebook.

•4th grade sentences with proper capitalization and punctuation.

•Paper is held the correct way with the holes on the left side of the paper.

Special Projects or Papers

•Daily work guidelines followed

•Assignments completed using word processing

•Appealing to the eye (colorful, artistic, organized, etc.)

•Shows creativity

The following criteria are expected from all fourth grade students for all assignments, whether completed in class or at home. Work that does not

meet these expectations will not be accepted.

Assessments•m

Class assessments will be done at the beginning of the year, middle of the year, and at the end of the year.

•CASE 21 assessments will be given at the end of quarter 2 only.

•EOGs will be at the end of the year.

•Class assessments will be sent home via the Monday Folder. -Any assessment not scoring proficient will need to be gone over and corrected at home. Extra support in class will also be given.

Absences/ Change in Transportation

•If your child is absent from school, please send me a note stating the reason for absence. I must code the absences daily in our attendance program. If you know of absences in advance, please notify me. Also, if your child’s mode of transportation ever changes (example: riding home with someone else), I need to know. You can call the school, or send a note. If I am not notified of the changes by phone call, email or note, I will send your child home the way that they usually go. Please e-mail transportation changes by 11:00 am, otherwise call the office.

ur scheduled lunch time is 10:40. Student’s will be allowed to bring in a snack to school for the afternoon. We will have snack around 1:00pm. Please remind your child that sharing snacks are discouraged (due to allergies).

ach Monday, your child will be bringing home a “Red Monday Folder.” It will contain papers for the week and graded/practice papers.

•Please go over the graded assignments in the red folder.

•Students are welcome to make test corrections at home, bring them in and ask to be reassessed on a particular objective.
