Class Expectations

• Students should always come to class prepared (paper, pencil, composition book, and A.R. book)

• Raise your hand to ask questions, make comments, or to get up on the floor

• Gum is not allowed• NO cell phones; If you do not want it taken

you will not have it out• Always be respectful and polite

Beginning of Class

• DOL• Journal• Lesson of the day• Always get your binder as soon as you enter

my class every day and have your pencil sharpened; when I shut my door you should have everything you need

• Use the bathroom before class starts and get a drink of water

During class

• Always keep up with any notes we take• Ask questions when you do not understand• Work on in-class or homework assignments if

given• Participate daily• If I am teaching then you are learning and

listening• When you finish your work you should be

reading your A.R. book

End of Class

• Remain in your seats until I dismiss you to leave the classroom

• When dismissed you need to push your chair in; my last class of the day will put their chairs up

Consequences

• Verbal Warning

• Phone call to parent/guardian or detention slip

• During detention you will have an essay to write

• Visit to Mrs. Groce’s office

DOL’s

• These are a daily task• Put them in your binder every day in the tab

labeled DOL• If you miss a day check the missing folder to

make it up; if you do not it will be counted wrong

• They will be turned in every Friday for a grade• Always put the date and then the DOL under

the date

Journals

• Bring your journals (composition books) every day

• After the DOL answer the journal question• Label the date then write your response to the

journal underneath• These will be randomly checked for a grade

Tardy/Late for class

• Do NOT let this happen• First time warning, if it continues one or

several of the consequences will be enforced

Student Desk

• Do not ask me for a pencil or paper during class time

• Get a pencil and paper before class starts from the student desk by the window; if you run out during class just raise your hand for permission to get up

• My desk, my stuff. So, do not be around my desk and do not take things off my desk.

Respect

• When an adult/guest comes into our classroom we need to immediately get quiet and show respect

• If I have to have a sub for any reason at any time you will show respect

• Any time a student is sharing show respect• When the phone rings or the intercom comes on• Always stand for the Pledge of Allegiance• Take all school drills seriously

Test/Quizzes

• Study• Complete the study guide if there is one• Participate in review games• Ask questions• Keep your eyes on your paper• Turn your test/quiz over when completed• Raise your hand quietly when finished, and

then read or work on the given assignment when I have collected your test/quiz

Absences

• Get the work you missed from the missing assignment folder and/or talk to me

• If you have an excused absence I follow CCMS policy for work

• If you have an unexcused absence you have one day to turn in the assignment, if not turned in by then it will be detention every day until I have the work

Missing/Late Work

• Detention every day until it is turned in; all late work will have 10 points deducted from that grade

• Ex.) If I check the assignment that you turned in late, and you earned a 100% I will automatically take 10 off for a 90%

Outlines, Rough Drafts, and Final Copies

• Pay attention to due dates for all• Due dates will be listed on the dry erase board
