On June 18, 2019, it was known that Willie “D” Solomon had departed this life.
He was born July 1, 1951to John B. Solomon and Hattie D. Solomon; later at the age of seven, he was parented by his step-father, Morris Burnette, all of whom preceded him in death, including his sister,
Inez Solomon Ewing.
Willie entered the United States Air Force after graduating from Eugene J. Butler High School in
1970 as an air force mechanic and served twenty-one years of honorable service. Willie later
worked in a management position at Bendex Corporation; he retired from a truck driving career
in December, 2018.
Willie leaves to cherish his memory, son, Sheldon Grant; brother, Wardell Solomon (Helen); sister,
Sherry Hammonds (Frederick); dedicated nephews, Deymon Burnette, Ja’Faith Davis, Ja’Hope Davis, Larry Ewing, Lardell Ewing, Wardell Solomon, Jr.;
dedicated nieces, Roycelyn Boddie, Shar’Breona Bryant, Katesa Burnette, Kathryn Solomon,
Ravondolyn Solomon; a host of other relatives and friends, including devoted special friends, Frances
Jones & Sharon Hollowman.
