Table 4.2 ACTUAL NOISE LEVELS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS FOR 2011. Looking at the yearly averages for the various areas in the plant, all recorded noise levels fell within acceptable limits. Careful observations though indicate that the noise level data for the first half of the year were greater than those for the second half with auto shop being the only exception. The mill area and the bunker top recorded values higher than the set standard but on the average the values were within the standards for each of the halves. The laboratory recorded the lowest value followed by the general office with the reception being the third lowest. ACTUAL NOISE FOR 2012 Generally, the second half of the year had its noise levels greater than those of the first half with the Loading floor, Mill area and Auto shop Drawing room being the exceptions. At the loading 68.8 was recorded in the first half and 67.5 recorded in the second half. The Mill area also had 69.1 as the first half noise level and 68.2 for the second half and the auto shop also recorded 60.9 in the first half and 59.4 in the second half. On the whole, the values recorded were within the acceptable standard with the old Mill bunker top being the only exception as it exceeded the threshold level slightly. A 70.3 value was recorded in the second half of the year for the old mill bunker.
