MOWR/DUAL ENROLLMENT
Move On When Ready (MOWR) is Georgia’s new dual enrollment program that allows high school students to earn college credit while working on their high school diploma. The new law streamlines the existing dual enrollment options (Move On When Ready, Accel and HOPE Grant) into one program with one funding source. By consolidating the existing programs into a single program, it will be easier for students and parents to navigate and take advantage of the available options to enroll in college courses while still in high school. The new MOWR program includes provisions to help remove some of the financial barriers that may prevent students from participating in a dual enrollment program.

Atlanta Virtual Academy Overview
The Instructional Technology department of Atlanta Public Schools is pleased to offer students grades 7 -12 the opportunity to take courses online while enrolled in their current home school.
Courses offered teacher-led online courses that allow students a way to earn credit towards graduation. Students are eligible to take any course offered, however all courses must be approved by a local school counselor or designee prior to enrollment. Students can take courses for the first time and for credit recovery. AVA programs are designed to allow students and their families flexible learning options to meet their educational needs. By providing more opportunities to achieve educational success, the Atlanta Virtual Academy is looking to change the outcome for many and provide a means to better, brighter futures for APS students. Learning that takes place "Any Time...Any Place...Any Device”.
What AVA Offers
Credit Recovery
Credit recovery is an alternative way for students to repeat a failed course that is needed for high school graduation. Upon successful completion of all assigned modules, students are awarded credit for the course.
Although students can work anytime, any place, and in any space, schools must also provide a place for students to work and receive academic assistance.
What AVA Offers
AVA Achieve
AVA Achieve is for students who are taking a course in AVA for the first time, or who have scored a grade of 59% or below and need to retake the course. This option is also for students who failed the course, but passed the EOCT. This is a great option for students who also want to get ahead.
What AVA Offers
AVA Advanced Path
ACCELERATION FOR HONORS OR GIFTED STUDENTS, & ADVANCED PLACEMENT COURSES
For example, a Freshmen can take their required courses and one additional course on their own time beyond the regular school day.
