2017–Volume Two MPS Group is wrapping up a truly outstanding year. 2017 marks the third consecutive year of record sales, continuing our long trend of double- digit growth, deeply satisfied customers and exceptional safety performance. The unofficial theme from our most recent strategic planning session is coming true: “Taking MPS Group to the Next Level.” I applaud your hard work to make this happen! As we stride forward into 2018, I am very excited to continue building on our success. MPS Group is well-positioned for the next year. Competitive and customer pressure will certainly continue to challenge us, providing us the opportunity to once again demonstrate our unwavering commitment to delivering the highest level of satisfaction and value. With strong performance, our word of mouth reputation has been an effective sales technique for MPS Group. We intend to continue capitalizing on the goodwill generated through outstanding service and cost competitiveness as we grow the company. Through the collaborative effort of our hard- working leadership team, MPS Group has set ambitious targets over the coming years to take us well beyond the $100 million in sales plateau that we anticipate to cross this year. Our plans, filled with growth initiatives, have been developed and are being set in motion. Thanks to each of you for helping us continue this exciting ride. We gathered and delivered 20,000 lbs. of water for Texas and 18,000 lbs. for Florida over two separate collection days,” noted Huggins. “Thank you to the entire city of Toledo! And special thanks to MPS Group who embraced the cause from the moment I mentioned it. Hurricane Relief Efforts

Sending Our Support SouthFilling large vehicles bound for remote destinations isn’t a new activity to Mike Huggins, an MPScrew technician at the General Motors Toledo transmission plant. SolutionsGreening GM Toledo

Rolling out a Post-Consumer Compost ProgramAnother recycling bin has beenadded to the line-up at the General

Motors Powertrain Toledo plant. In addition to the glass, plastic andaluminum can bins GM employees

are accustomed to seeingthroughout the facility, a

composting container joinedtheir ranks. Composting is a method of solid wastedisposal using biologicaldecomposition towards the

end use of fertilizer.

With this new program, MPS Group’s onsite ResourceManager Matt Hoffbauer hopes to increase the totalrecycling rate at the plant and divert compostablematerial from the WTE ( waste to energy ) stream.

“We’ve placed compost containers at all break areas, team centers and high traffic areas,” notes Hoffbauer.“There are about 80 collection points that provideplant-wide coverage and encourage participation.”

Introduction of the new post-consumer compostprogram was rolled out according to schedule with

first presentation of the concept in late January 2017,followed by trials in February and April. Full implementation of the program began on July 31.

“MPS technicians empty compost containers, thenstore and ship the compostable material. In the sixmonths since we began trials, we’ve generated 7,800lbs. of compostable material,” Hoffbauer stated.

Containers are emptied a minimum of once per daywith high traffic containers receiving attention onceper shift. The compostable material is then collectedoutside in 220 gallon totes before being picked upby an EPA certified Class 2 compost facility.

“We inspect material priorto it going into thetotes to ensure low contamination levels,” Hoffbauer explained. “We are in constant communication with our plant workers about acceptable materials through newsletters, signs and team meetings. The program is receiving great continued support.”

Expanding the Management Team

Beth Baumgartner Leads the HR StaffWhen Beth Baumgartner and MPS Group found each other,it was a dynamic pairing. As the newly named Human Resources Manager, Baumgartner found herself hiring 100new employees in her first 100 days.

“My role with MPS Group officially began on June 1, 2017.Before Labor Day, as a business partner with I F S and withsupport from Marcia Moss, I had expanded the company’s

roster by 38%,” detailed Baumgartner. A background of more than 30 years’ HRexperience, most recently with DTE Energy, helped Baumgartner achieve thisrecord expansion and as she states, “I hit the ground running.”

One of her first tasks was hiring 80 field technicians for the Industrial & Facilities Services Group. Finding these candidates in a tight job market requiredinnovative outreach.

“Instead of using only the typical channels like online job boards, we marketedthe interview event through postings on Facebook and using word of mouth.

Several IFS leaders posted event flyers on their personal pages and one individual reported his was shared more than 60 times! Our tracking shows that70% of those attending the our job fairs had seen the invitation on social media.”

Additionally, in a guerilla marketing tactic that features Baumgartner’s trademarkmoxie, she personally handed out flyers on a Sunday. “I was driving past the target area on a Sunday afternoon and decided to stop at a few high trafficdestinations to help spread the word door-to-door.”

Concurrent with the local job hunt, Baumgartner assisted with the onboardingof new employees at the GM Wentzville facility in suburban St. Louis. As part of the launch team for this new Paint Shop Management contract, she assistedwith the screening, background checking and drug testing of 70 employees, most of whom transferred to MPS Group from the incumbent service provider.

And after that? In addition to preparing material for the annual employee benefitsopen enrollment, Baumgartner’s team held a ribbon cutting ceremony on a revamped records room, welcomed an addition to the payroll department andupdated Onboarding material for the next round of hiring.

Central Michigan University alumnae with West Michigan ties, Baumgartner nowresides in West Bloomfield Township.

Growing theCore BusinessMPS Group’s reach has spread to Moraine, Ohio. Thecompany has yet another opportunity to demonstrateits expertise through a new contract at the DMAXLtd. manufacturing plant. “With a resource manager stationed at the worksite,we will focus on our common core resourcemanagement functions, including providing regulatory support, implementing recycling programs, shipping hazardous waste and removing solid waste.Geographically, the close proximity of the DMAX location to our Ohio branch office will allow us theopportunity to leverage all of our resources in an

effort to provide incremental value to the customer,”noted Regional Manager Jeff Parker. “As with ourother environmental services contracts, we lookforward to becoming a true partner with the client.”

A three-year contract with the new client is the resultof providing excellent customer service and valueduring previous engagements.

“This new customer proves the value of our word ofmouth referrals,” continued Parker. “MPS Group wasplaced on a very short list to provide pricing becauseof our reputation. We can be proud of the work we do.

General Motors established the DMAX joint venturewith Isuzu Motors Limited in 1998. The first dieselengine, jointly designed by the companies, wasproduced at the plant in July 2000. The DMAXplant has now manufactured more than 2 millionDuramax diesel engines.
