Charging the BatteryYour player has an integrated rechargeable battery. Upon

initial use, the battery should be charged fully to ensureoptimal performance and battery life.

If the player has not been used in a while, the battery mayneed to be recharged overnight (about hours).

The battery used in this device may present a fire orchemical burn if mistreated. Do not disassemble,incinerate, or heat the battery. Do not leave thebattery in a place subject to direct sunlight, or ina car with its windows closed.

Do not connect the player to a power source other

than that which is indicated here or on the label asthis may result in the risk of fire or electric shock.

Charging with a Computer

Your player can be charged through a USB computer con-nection. Use the supplied USB cable to connect the playerto a high-power USB port of a computer. The computermust be powered on and not in sleep mode.

When the player is connected and charging, a USBsymbol will be displayed on the player’s screen.

Turning the Player On/Off To turn the player on, slide and hold the

switch down until the screen turns on.

Disabling the Controls (Hold)When the switch is set to the “Hold” position,your player’s controls are disabled.

1. To disable the controls, slide the

switch up until it clicks into the “Hold” position.2. To enable the controls, slide the

switch down to release it from the “Hold” position.

Resetting the PlayerReset the player if it should freeze and not respond orotherwise malfunction.

1. Disconnect your player if it is connected to acomputer.

2. Use a paper clip to gently press the but-ton located on the rear of the player.

Main MenuWhen you turn on the player, you will see the Main menu.The Main menu gives you access to the different function

modes of your player. These modes are:Music: Browse and play music.

Photo: Browse and view pictures.

Video: Browse and play movies.

Radio: Listen to FM radio broadcasts.

Text: Browse and read text files.

Explorer: Browse all files.

Settings: Adjust the player’s options.

Select “Extras” from the Main Menu to get the“Text” and “Explorer” menus.

Music ModeBrowse for and play your music les.

If you have loaded new music files onto the player,the music library will need to be refreshed when you enter Music mode. This process may takeseveral minutes. You will not be able to access theMusic Browser screen until you refresh the musiclibrary.

For more information about how to get mu-sic onto your player, please refer to the section“Transferring Files to the Player”.

Music Browser Controls

When you choose MUSIC mode from the Main menu, you willsee the Music Browser screen. You can choose to browse yourmusic by song name, album, artist, or genre, or you may choose“All Music” or “Foder Explorer” to view the music files and folderson the player.

If your music files contain ID3 song informationtags, you will be able to view your tracks by Artist,

Album, or Genre. To view all files (including thosethat do not contain ID3 information), select “AllSongs” or use the “Browser” option.

If music is already playing, you will have the addi-tional option to return to the Now Playing screen.

Lyric display requires a “.LRC” lyric file which maybe found on the internet or may be created witha Lyric file editor. Lyric files can contain synchro-nized timing information as well as lyric informa-tion.

Lyric files must have the same name as its cor-responding music file (e.g., “SongTitle1.lrc” and“SongTitle1.mp3”) and must be placed in the samedirectory.

Add Musics to your Favorite ListTo create a quick Favorite List that contains your favorite

musics:

1. Select “All Music” from the Music Browserscreen.

2. Use the Browser controls to select a song to add.

3. Press . The screen will display “Add toFavorite”.

4. Press to nish adding the song to theFavorite List.

Repeat Mode

Change the repeat options to adjust the order in which

tracks are played.

Item Description

Normal Play all tracks once and no repeat.

Repeat One Play the current track repeatedly.

Repeat All Play all tracks repeatedly.Random Play all tracks in random order.

Intro Play the first 10 seconds of each track.

Add to Favorite

You can make a play list of your favorite music by addingsongs to the Favorite list. To add a song to the Favorite list:

1. Select “All Music” from the Music Browserscreen.

2. Use the Browser controls to select a song to add.3. Press . The screen will display “Add to

Favorite”.

4. Press to nish adding the song to theMy Favorite List.

To play the Favorites list, select “Favorites” from theMusic Browser menu.

Select a digital equalizer preset to optimize the way theplayer processes audio signals. The options are: Normal,

PlayFX, Rock, Pop, Classic, Jazz, and User EQ. The PlayFx has options: D, Bass, and LEQ (Auto

Volume: consistent volume level respectively).

User EQ Setup:

1. Press or to select a band

to adjust.2. Press to increase the selected band

level; Press to decrease the level.

3. Press when you are nished tosave.

Select the bands to the left to adjust low (bass) fre-quencies; select the bands in the middle to adjustmid frequencies; select the bands to the right to adjust high frequencies (treble).

Adjust the brightness of the screen.

Zoom In / Zoom Out Select Zoom In to increase the magnification level of

Use the control keys (left/right/up/down) to panaround the magnified image.

Press to return to normal view. Select Zoom Out to decrease the magnification level

of the photo.

Press to return to normal view.

The Zoom In/Out function works for JPEG photofiles, only.

Your player supports AVI, RM, RMVB, and WMVvideo files. Please refer to the Specifications sec-tion for details.

It may be necessary to use the included Coby Me-dia Manager software to convert video for play-back on the player.

Listen to FM radio broadcasts.

You must have a pair of headphones connectedto the headphone jack to receive FM broadcasts; your player will utilize the headphone cord as anantenna.

Radio Tuning ControlsWhen you choose RADIO from the Main menu, you will seethe Radio Tuning screen. You can search for stations, tuneto stations manually, or tune to preset stations.

You must have saved preset stations prior to using

preset tuning mode.

Set the sensitivity of Auto-Scan feature.

Force Mono

Set the stereo reception on or off.

Area

Set the FM frequency range (USA, Europe, Japan).

screen help. If you are using media management softwaresuch as iTunes, Winamp, or Windows Media Player, pleaserefer to their documentation for support.

Transferring with Microsoft Windows1. Open a le explorer window. Locate the les you

would like to transfer from your computer. Selectthe les/folders with the mouse and press CTRL-C (copy) on the keyboard.

2. Double-click the “My Computer” icon on yourdesktop and then double-click the icon thatrepresents your player (e.g., MP727 / RemovableDisk). The computer will display all les and fold-ers currently stored in the player.

3. Press CTRL-V (paste) on the keyboard to transferthe les you selected in Step 1 to the player.

Transferring with Macintosh OS X1. Open a nder window. Locate the les you would

like to transfer from your computer. Select theles/folders with the mouse and press APPLE-C(copy) on the keyboard.

2. Click on the Removable Disk icon located on the

left side of the nder window. The computer willdisplay all les and folders currently stored in theplayer.

3. Press APPLE-V (paste) on the keyboard to transferthe les you selected in Step 1 to the player.

Disconnecting from a ComputerTo avoid data loss or file/firmware corruption, discon-

nect the player as instructed below or as by your specificoperating system.

Microsoft Windows

1. Double-click the green

arrow in the taskbarlocated on the lower-right side of the computer screen (Safely RemoveHardware).

2. Safely Remove

Hardware:

Select “USB MassStorage Device” fromthe list that appearsand then click on“Stop”.

Stop a Hardware

Device: Select“USB Mass StorageDevice” from the list that appears and then clickon “OK”.

3. When the “Safe to Remove Hardware” windowappears, click the OK button and disconnect theUSB cable from the player and your computer.

Please install and use the “Coby Media Manager” (CMM)software provided on the player. Using the CMM software

is the easiest way to: Transfer (sync) media files to the player

Convert video and audio files to a format compatiblewith your player

Keep your player’s software up to date

Browse and play your media library on your com-puter

The instruction manual for CMM can be found on yourplayer. You may need to download and install the freeAcrobat PDF reader from Adobe at

www.adobe.com/go/getreader/ in order to view theinstruction manual.

If you choose not to use CMM, you can still performbasic file management using your computer’s op-erating system commands. Please refer to the doc-umentation included with your operating system

for more information (e.g., Microsoft Windows orMacintosh OS X).

ComenzarCargue la bateríaSu reproductor posee batería recargable integrada. Antes

de su utilización inicial, debería cargar la batería comple-tamente para asegurar un rendimiento óptimo y largaduración de la batería.

Si el reproductor no se ha utilizado durante un tiempo, labatería deberá cargarse durante toda la noche.

Si se le diera un mal uso a la batería, el aparato podría incendiarse o quemarse. No desmonte labatería, ni la queme ni la caliente. No la expongaa lugares con luz directa del sol o en coches con lasventanillas cerradas.

No conecte el reproductor a una fuente de alimen-

tación que no sea la que aquí se indica o en la eti-queta. Eso podría dar lugar a peligro de incendioo descarga eléctrica.

Cargándola a un ordenador

Su reproductor puede cargarlo en un ordenador a través

de USB. Utilice el cable USB para conectar el reproductora un puerto USB de un ordenador. El ordenador deberáencontrarse en la posición on y no en el modo sleep.

Si sus archivos de música contienen ID3 Tag, usted podrá buscar las pistas por Artista, álbum o gé-

Si la música está ya reproduciendo, tendrá la op-ción de volver a la Pantalla de Reproducción Ac-

encontrará en internet o podrá crear un editorde archivos Lyric. Los archivos de Lyric display pueden contener coordinación sincronizada asícomo información de lyric.

opciones son: Normal, PlayFx, Rock, Pop, Classic, Grave,Jazz, y EQ Usuario.

PlayFx tiene opciones: D, Grave, y LEQ(VolúmenAutomático: nivel de volúmen consistente, respec-tivamente).

Configuración de EQ Usuario:

Modo RadioEscuchar retransmisiones de radio en FM.

Deberá tener unos auriculares conectados a laclavija de auriculares para poder escuchar la ra-dio; este reproductor utiliza el cable de los auricu-lares a modo de antena.

Teclas de SintonizaciónCuando selecciona el modo RADIO del Menú Principal,puede ver la pantalla del Sintonizador de Radio. Puedebuscar emisoras, sintonizarlas manualmete o sintonizarlascomo emisoras preestablecidas.

Antes de utilizar el modo de sintonización preestablecido,deberá haber guardado las emisoras previamente.

Estas son las opciones: Guardar marcapáginas, Cargar

marcapáginas y Borrar marcapáginas. Guardar marcapáginas: Para guardar una localización

como marcapáginas.

Copiar archivos de música al carpeta “MUSIC.DIR”.

Transferir con Windows Microsoft1. Abra una ventana de explorador de archivo.

Localice los archivos que desearía transferir a suordenador. Seleccione los archivos/carpetas conel ratón y presione CTRL-C (copiar) en el teclado.

2. Haga doble clic en “Mi PC” de su escritorio yluego, doble clic en el icono que represente elreproductor. En el ordenador aparecerá todos losarchivos y carpetas actuales almacenadas en elreproductor.

3. Presione CTRL-V (pegar) del teclado paratransferir los archivos seleccionados en el Pso 1del reproductor.

Transferir con Macintosh OS X1. Abra una ventana. Localice los archivos que le

gustaría transferir de su ordenador. Seleccione losarchivos/carpetas con el ratón y presione APPLE-C(copiar) en el teclado.

2. Haga clic en el icono de Disco Extraíble localizadoen la parte izquierda de la ventana. En el ordenadoraparecerán todos los archivos y carpetas alma-cenadas recientemente en el reproductor.

Desconectarlo del OrdenadorPara evitar la pérdida de datos o la corrupción de archivos/firmware, desconecte el reproductor tal y como se le in-dica más abajo o como su sistema operacional específico.

1. Haga doble clic en laecha verde de la barrade herramientas situadaen la parte inferior derecha de la pantalla delordenador (para extraer el Hardware de formasegura).

2. Forma segura de

extraer el Hard-

ware:

Seleccione “USBMass StorageDevise” de la listaque aparece y luego,haga clic en “Stop”.

Parar un Hardware: Seleccione “USB Mass Storage Device” de la

lista que aparezca y luego, haga clic en “OK”.

3. Cuando aparezca la ventana “Extracción Seguradel Hardware”, haga clic en OK y desconecte elcable USB del reproductor y de su ordenador.
