Dearfriends,
I am delighted to invite you to join me in an opportunity given to me by Music Celebrations
International to direct the second-annual Mozart International Choral Festival in the Historic
Salzburg Dom. What an honor to be directing this festival alongside the Dom's very own director of
music (the same position Mozart held), Professor Janos Czifra!
The festival will feature a combined choir of select SATB singers from every age group: high
school, college to adult accompanied by a wonderful professional Austrian orchestra. Imagine
singing in the very venue for which Mozart himself composed numerous works of sacred music for
the city of Salzburg!
A once in a lifetime experience for many of your singers, this festival can be the starting
point or the end of a longer European tour.
I look forward to seeing you in Austria and sharing in this experience together.
ALL ABOARD! BON VOYAGE!
My warmest regards,
eph ehly

Salzburger DomThe site occupied by the Salzburg Cathedral was probably a sacredplace for sacrifices in Celtic as well as Roman times. The firstcathedral was built under Saint Vergil of Salzburg, who might haveused foundations by St. Rupert. The first Dom was recorded in
774.
The finished church is 466 feet long and 109 feet high at thecrossing/dome. The baroque style of St. Rupert's can be seen in thechoir and the nave.
The Salzburg Cathedral was partially damaged during World War II when a single bomb crashed throughthe central dome over the crossing. Repairs were somewhat slow to take place, but restoration wascomplete by 1959.
Among the precious objects to be found in Salzburg's Cathedral are the baptismal font in which
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozartwas baptized, the majestic main organ, surrounded by angels playinginstruments and crowned by Rupert and Virgil, as well as the magnificent Cathedral portals made by
Scheider-Manzell, Matar and Manz.
In his capacity as the court organist andconcert master, Mozart composednumerous undying works of sacred musicfor Salzburg.
The Salzburg Cathedral in German, the Salzburger Dom is a 17th century baroque cathedraldedicated to Saint Rupert of Salzburg.
