Mouse Research
The first step in designing a mouse is research. Here, I researched and redrew, in different perspectives, the school computer mouse and also a mouse that I found online.
Ideations
Final Mouse Idea
After thinking and drawing 20 ideas of computer mice, I narrowed my selection down to one mouse which is the simple drawing shown at the right.
Idea Development Drawing Phase
In this process, I developed the drawing that I selected. I took the basic shape and started adding features and concentrating on the actual shape of the entire mouse. The picture to the left shows four different perspectives of the mouse.
ConceptThe most important aspect of my mouse is that it is comfortable to the contours of the human hand. The dip on the left side allows the thumb to rest comfortably. The left and right click buttons are positioned so the fingers do not have to strain. The scroll button in the middle does more than just scroll up and down; it scrolls left, right, and diagonally, also. The hand itself hardly has to move!
Digital Design Phase
This is showing different views and displays of my mouse design in the computer program,
Rhino.

This is the beginning of the rendering process. I added a plane, spotlights, and color to my mouse.
