20132013 Welcome and Introduction Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (MVCC) Education Programme for 2013. The Education Team at MVCC are committed to multi-professional education, training and practice development in Cancer and Palliative Care. This is reflected in an education programme that is underpinned by national and regional initiatives such as: The Cancer Reform Strategy (2007). Nice IOG’s, The End of Life Care Strategy (2008), and Improving Outcomes: A Strategy for Cancer (DoH 2011). The aim of our programme is to ensure that all staff groups are aware of the spectrum and philosophy of cancer and palliative care through the provision of core and specialised education programmes. Thus, by encouraging collaborative learning and working we are able to strive for excellence when caring for our patients and those close to them. Please contact a member of the Education Team if you have any questions regarding the educational events in this publication. We look forward to seeing you at one of our events in the future, With best wishes,
