The Musings of Pastor Jimmy
Hello Friends,
I am writing this shortly after an amazing Youth Yard Sale/Car Wash and I am filled with pride for how hard they
worked. Then I began to think about the past two years here at Mt Olivet. I am proud to have been able to be your
Pastor and not only watch you grow in the Lord, but I too have grown as well.
I have learned a lot over the past years and I am excited to announce that I will still be your Pastor as we enter the
2016/2017 year. With the growth we have been experiencing I can’t wait to see what is going to happen in the coming
year. We have weddings, babies, and new opportunities as this new season approaches.
Joshua 24:15 boldly shares, “But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD.” This will be our motto this year. We at
Mt Olivet are most certainly family and my prayer is that everything we do and hope to accomplish will point straight to
Jesus. I encourage you all to pray on how we as a church can impact our community. We have many outreach
opportunities this summer and a full clothes closet. These are all fantastic stepping stones to what God is leading us to
do for the Kingdom of God.
My summer challenge to our Church is from June to August is to read the Four Gospels. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John
bring a beautiful picture of Jesus and His life. My hope is as all of us read these books together we will be drawn closer
to our Savior. As you read I encourage you to pray that your relationship with Jesus will become stronger.
May the Lord be with you,
Pastor Jimmy

Clothes Closet – Carol Mills
Andy and I would like to thank everyone, especially Glenn Dillion and his friend Jerry, Ruth, Chuck & Marty, for all their
help on the clothes closet. Also thanks to everyone that donated materials used. We can’t say thank you enough for
all the hard work.
All that is needed now is clothing. We need women’s, men’s, teen’s, toddler and baby clothes and shoes, as well as
hangers. We would like only freshly washed or dry cleaned clothes. No socks or underwear, unless they are new. Also we’d like only clothing that can be worn NOW., no winter clothing such as coats or wool items at this time. Please
make sure clothes are either on hangers or folded nicely, and place them in the primary Sunday School room on the tables.
If anyone would like to help with setting up, please call me, Andy or Pastor Jimmy.
As we learned in Bible Study, God told Noah to build an Ark, and gave him instructions on how to build it. We feel that
God had his hands on this project also. It took Noah over 100 years to build the Ark, and less than 2 weeks for this, but we
give God all the credit.
The Bible tells us in Acts 4:37, that Barnabas sold his land and laid the money at the apostles feet, so they all would be
equal, and no one was in need. We should also share what we have, so that no one in our own community is in need.
That is the purpose of our Clothes Closet. To help others.
THANK YOU!
VBS 2016 is “farm-tastic!” In Barnyard Roundup VBS, your children learn
that Jesus gathers us together! They’ll look into the Bible, God’s Holy
Word, and explore five Bible accounts where Jesus graciously gathers us
together to be with Him with His abundant provision and saving
protection, now and forever.
