Mount Carmel College of Nursing Virtual Tour
Transcript of Mount Carmel College of Nursing Virtual Tour
For more than 110 years, Mount Carmel College of Nursing has
helped students to realize their dreams – to realize nursing.
Join us on our virtual tour and take the first steps down the path
of becoming a nurse!
Marian Hall
“Dedication”, the 50-foot high mural on the side of MCCN was painted by Eric Grohe in 2004 as a tribute to the dedication of
physicians, nurses and healthcare professionals around the world. It is the first thing you will see as you walk onto our campus.
The main entrance to the College is located in Marian Hall, which houses most of our faculty and staff, as well as our Financial Aid office.
Our front patio is the perfect place to relax and take a study break at MCCN. It is popular on nice days as a hangout spot for
students in between classes to catch up on homework or spend time with friends.
Our friendly receptionists are always here to greet you when you walk through our marble lobby, located on the first floor of
Marian Hall. The lobby is the place to go for information to help you achieve academic and personal success at MCCN.
If we aren’t hosting an exciting event in the MCCN Lounge, there is always a comfortable chair available for some quiet study time or
relaxation in between classes.
Have some free time? Head to the lower level of Marian Hall, where you will find our Rec Room, fully equipped with a pool table, ping
pong table, study tables, vending machines, computers, a flat-screen TV and a fully-equipped kitchen.
Next to the Rec Room you will find our Skills Lab. This is a state-of-the-art learning environment for our students to practice on
mannequins that mimic life-like human symptoms.
We understand that physical fitness is important in College, which is why we have two workout facilities on-campus. One can be found in
Marian Hall, while the other is located in the residence hall for students living on campus. Take advantage of our facilities in Marian
Hall between classes and clinicals.
Residence HallsAngela Hall & Holy Cross Hall
We offer on-campus housing conveniently located adjacent to the MCCN campus. Enjoy a tour of our fully-furnished apartment-style
living spaces, just walking distance from your classes.
All of our apartments come fully-furnished with a kitchen, living room, two double bedrooms with two twin beds and desks, two bathrooms
and a washer and dryer. Continue the tour to see what additional amenities MCCN has to offer.
Grab your classmate and get in shape in our fitness center and yoga room, conveniently located in the residence halls.
Center for Learning and Education (CLE)
The Center for Learning and Education, CLE for short, is home to the Admissions and Business Offices, Student Life, Charlie’s Java Jolt, classrooms, computer labs, meeting space, and the Mount
Carmel Health Sciences Library.
Classroom lectures are the foundation for a strong nursing education. Here at MCCN, we have small classes (40:1),
interactive labs (20:1), and an intimate clinical setting (8:1).
Charlie’s Java Jolt is a favorite hang out or study spot for many of our students. Can’t find a drink that you like? Ask for a special
drink and you could get your own card in our coveted recipe box!
We love our library staff! Located on the 3rd floor of the CLE, the dual-level state-of-the-art library offers many resources to
students as well as many relaxing and quiet places to study.
Whether you are catching up on the latest MCCN news or taking a step back in time with our nursing archives, the Health
Sciences Library keeps you up-to-date on everything nursing!
Need to find a physical copy of a journal article for Nursing Research? The reference desk is the go-to spot for
research assistance. All of this while having a beautiful view of the front lawn of the campus, as well as the
Columbus skyline in the background.
Group and individual study areas are a hot commodity here at MCCN. The natural light allows for an ideal reading location and
the couches offer a comfy alternative for those big group projects. Need somewhere a little quieter? You can reserve any of our study
rooms on the MCHS website.
Talk about convenience! MCCN is adjacent to one of the five Mount Carmel Health System facilities. Mount Carmel West’s
integrated network is a great resource for our students who are looking for real-world clinical experience.
Next to Mount Carmel West is the Mount Carmel Center for Innovative Learning, a new state-of-the-art facility used by students, medical residents, Mount Carmel colleagues and other community
healthcare providers.
The facility features four large simulation bays, each with a central control center, a room for laparoscopic procedures and several
rooms dedicated to special training in orthopedics and obstetrics. Check out the virtual tour here.
