Motor Grader G9290The reliable high performer

The G9290 grader has excellent traction and powerful

blade down force and is designed with the operator’s

needs in mind. Easy to operate and maintain, it’s a

machine that’s built for hard work in the toughest

conditions.

The SDLG new and enhanced ROPS/FOPS

cab has excellent visibility, with great operator

comfort for best efficiency and performance.

Powered by an SDLG SD130B Stage III

diesel engine with electronically controlled

fuel injection, supplied by Volvo, offering high

torque at low revs, with Variable Horse Power

technology – all to supply outstanding fuel

efficiency and high performance when needed.

Efficient cooling package with operator

controlled reversible fan.

Fitted with an SDLG HTE840S transmission

designed by Volvo, with 8 speed forward gears,

4 reverse, and a dedicated grader transmission.

Articulation is provided by two hydraulic cylinders

and reliable articulation joints, with excellent hose

routing through the articulation center.

Heavy-duty chain driven tandem with differential

lock on the rear axle and heavy-duty tandem

bearings.

The unique SDLG dual cylinder turning circle

offers optimal performance during grading,

and this, together with wide-stance lift

cylinders, provides the stable grading

platform needed for less rework

and a smoother finished surface.

SDLG G9290: durable frame and axles, superb articulation

z SDLG offers a parallel rear ripper for the G9290 fitted with three ripper shanks. The ripper frame can also accommodate scarifier teeth if required.

z The front frame is engineered to be strong enough to accommodate the front attachment, the moldboard and the circle turn, while still providing optimal visibility for the operator.

z Strong and durable articulation joint with easily accessible hose-routing and articulation cylinders when maintenance is required.

z Heavy-duty front axle, with excellent 16° oscillation and 18° wheel-leaning capabilities combined with great steering angles makes the G9290 versatile enough for all your grading jobs.

z SDLG frames are prepared from the factory to accommodate all attachments – there is no need to weld or cut to fit attachments like a scarifier or a ripper to the machine.

z Box type design rear frame for superior strength and durability, accommodating the drivetrain as well as any rear attachments.

z The G9290 has a heavy-duty front axle with optimal oscillation, to keep the frame level to the ground to ensure the best grading result.

SDLG G9290: smartly-designed powertrain

Hydraulicsz The G9290 has efficient and precise blade

control through its hydraulic system, which consists of one variable displacement axial piston pump supplying oil to the proportional demand closed center load-sensing main control valve. This ensures that sufficient flow is always available.

z Two individual gear pumps are equipped: one for steering and one for the cooling fan.

Transmission and axlez The G9290 is fitted with an 8 speed forward

and 4 speed reverse automatic transmission designed by Volvo specifically for motor graders. Features include shuttle shift (for easy shifting between forward and reverse), automatic downshifting to an appropriate inching gear upon stop when roading and multiple operating modes available for faster or simpler grading operations

z The rear axle features operator controlled, hydraulically applied, multiple wet disc style differential lock and heavy-duty bearings for longer durability.

Enginez The G9290 is equipped with an efficient

and reliable SDLG SD130B Stage III diesel engine with 211 kW output, supplied by Volvo. To further enhance the durability of the engine, an oil bath air pre-cleaner is fitted as standard.

z The engine features Variable Horsepower technology for improved efficiency and grading, and lower fuel consumption.

Tandemz Wheels are driven by heavy-duty, self-

adjusting chains. The tandem provides an oscillation of +/- 15º to help the operator perform the highest standard of grading.

z The G9290 is fitted with 20.5-25 size tires as standard for optimal performance.

z Dual brake circuits are fitted for enhanced safety.

Cooling packagez The G9290 has a thermostatically controlled,

hydraulically driven cooling fan which provides outstanding cooling performance. The cooling fan is also reversible (by pressing a switch in the cab) for easier cleaning and better performance.

z The cooling package consists of a charged air cooler, a hydraulic oil cooler, a transmission oil cooler and an engine cooler.

Maintenancez With large openable doors at the side and

at the rear, the G9290 provides excellent access to all the main maintenance points. For convenience, all filters are grouped together on the left side of engine.

Dual cylinder circle turnz The circle turn, exclusive to SDLG, uses twin gear hydraulic cylinders

to provide instant, high-output torque, enabling moldboard rotation under any load. This means there is no need to stop, reverse and change moldboard angle. Having circle turn gears on the outside of the ring gives the benefit of less mud and debris stuck to the gears and hence less wear, less maintenance and longer durability.

Safety firstz The safety of the operator is provided for by a ROPS/FOPS certified

cab, fitted on the front frame of the G9290 in order to reduce vibrations and heat from engine and transmission. Entry and exit can safely be made with 3-point contact all the way. The cab is fitted with LED work lights to ensure safe operation even in the absence of daylight.

Blade pull and blade down forcez The long wheel base, long blade base and optimum weight distribution

of the G9290 provides a smooth graded finish as well as high cutting capacity at the moldboard edge. This improves productivity by ensuring high down force, while maintaining good steering ability; combining to give the G9290 excellent blade pull and blade down force capabilities.

Excellent visibility z The design of the G9290 provides excellent visibility for the operator

to the front and the sides of the machine, with large windows and few obstacles to obstruct the view. The sloping front frame also improves visibility. Inside the cab, the control levers are ergonomically laid out with ample adjustment possibilities to fit every operator’s needs. The steering wheel pedestal is also adjustable for optimal comfort.

Turning circle support shoesz The circle turn is kept in place by 3 large support shoes. Shims can

be removed from the circle clamps to compensate for bearing wear. The guide shoes have “jack” bolts to facilitate adjustment of the circle guide shoes.

Blade mobilityz The G9290 offers tremendous blade mobility, 90 degrees left and 90

degrees right. This may be easily performed hydraulically from inside the cab, thanks to the SDLG Blade Control System. The lock bar features seven positions to enable blade positioning from a 90 degree vertical position on both sides of the grader to a 21 degree downward ditch cleaning angle.

Intelligent cab designz The most frequently used buttons are positioned together on the

dashboard for easy access. The cab is laid out to provide excellent visibility in all directions. The G9290 comes with powerful air conditioning fitted as standard, to ensure operator comfort.
