Cleanse & Prime• Sanitize your hands in front of the client
• Have client remove any impurities with a Motives Cleansing
Towelette prior to applying primer
• Sanitize lip and eye pencils before and after each use in
front of the client with a spray of rubbing alcohol

• Apply in layers, building color up gradually• Invest in a Motives® Cheek Contour Brush, designed
specifically for blushing• Always begin pigment placement at temple sweeping
down towards the apple of the cheek. This allows you to control the amount of color on the cheek. Then blend in an upward motion, from the center of the face out towards the outer edges of your face
• If you put on too much blush, sweep a clean Motives® Powder Brush over the blush to soften the color and take away any excess
• Determine the proper shape of the finished brow prior to beginning. place the brush at the side of the nose straight up to the inner corner of the eye and make a light mark with the brow pencil.
• To find where the arch should be, place the brush at the side of the nose up through the outer part of the pupil and make a mark.
• Find where the brow should end, by placing the brush at the side of the nose up through the outer part of the eye.

• Use a brow brush and comb to smooth browns and determine desired shape.
• Paint concealer 2 to 3 shades lighter than the skin tone under the brow outlining the desired. Feather product down to lid.
• Paint concealer above the brow in light feathery strokes continuing to line your desired shape.
• Using Pencil or Powder, fill in the brow using short strokes, going against the grain of the hair. This will add depth and not appear drawn on.
• Brush the brows in the direction the hair grows to smooth and blend the fill.
SHADOW• Eye Base (Eye Primer Brush) Helps the eye shadow last, keeps from
creasing, shows shadow’s true color• Base Color (Shadow Brush) Lighter shade all over lids from lash to
brows• Crease Color (Eye Definer Brush) In the crease of eye and outer
corner of the eye in a sideways V shape• Blending (Blender Brush) Blend from the inside of the eye out with
short firm strokes

EYELINER• Hold your eyelid taut with your other hand, to allow the easiest
application• Use short, feathery strokes when applying eyeliner, rather than
drawing one hard line • Start at the inner corner of the eye and work your way in toward
the outer of the eyelid • For more long-lasting eyeliner, apply eye shadow over your eyeliner
to set it into place

MASCARA• Curl the lashes by pumping the lash curler gently at the base of the
lashes slowly moving towards the tips• Create Volume starting at the base of the lash, gently wiggle the
wand back and forth to create volume• Sweep mascara out to the tips of the lashes. You can do this as
many times as desired depending on the length and volume you are looking for.
• Work the inner and outer lashes with the tip. For the bottom lashes, clean wand first, then vertically or horizontally drag across

CRAYON• Using the side of the crayon, apply Lip Crayon to the lips in
even strokes, following the natural lip line • For lip color that lasts, fill in the lips with the liner,
blending the liner from the outside to the center LIPSTICK• Apply crème lipstick using a brush. Starting at the cupids
bow apply evenly in smooth strokes LIP SHINE• Apply gloss using the brush applicator making sure to
apply evenly on naked lip or on top of the crème lipstick.

TRANSLUCENT POWDER• Press powder with a large powder brush into the face starting under eyes blending upwards. • Blend into makeup using a light sweeping motion for a matte finish that lasts all day.SETTING SPRAY• Shake bottle well.• Spay face in 3 section right, center, then left. • Spray across, top, middle, then bottom making sure to get chin & neck for a porcelain finish that lasts throughout the
day.
