Our party wishes to propose the following motion in order to enhance the

functioning and efficiency of the metro project.

The city of Pune is facing a tremendous problem with its road infrastructure which is not able to cater to the traffic needs of the city , in order to improve the situation the government has

APPROVED THE CONSTRUCTION OF A METRO IN THE CITY.

Use of Alternative Energy Solutions for the Metro Stations

Pune is a city which gets optimum sunlight almost 365 days of the year , our party proposes to make use of this natural resource in the form of roof top solar power plants at metro stations for

providing energy to the metro in order to curb the pressure on the rapidly depleting existing energy sources.

Removing Encroachment Along the Metro Lines

Encroachments on the existing roads hamper their functioning and add to the problems of the city , we propose to re-establish these people and clear the lines by providing job opportunities

for them as a part of the Metro Project.

Provide opportunities for these people to set up organised kiosks at the metrostations which would be good for business as well as reduce the pressure on current road encraochments

Rethinking the existing BRTS infrastructure

The traffic lanes provided for the BRTS on some of the major roads in Pune are defunct , the buses prefer to use the regular lanes and this is eating up the road width and increasing traffic

problems. We propose to redisitribute these lanes along the Metro lines.

In Pune, the BRTS corridor is a free-for-all as buses snake through the busy Swargate traffic junction.
