Motion gaming in mobile phones is something toshake your phone to have a truckload of fun.

Motion sensing games make the wholeexperience much more enjoyable.

The mobile phone giants are trying their best toemulate the motion sensing fun element that isbeing widely appreciated with Nintendo's gamingconsole Wii.

possible through the accelerometer. Accelerometer which is now available in all

Motion Detection

Algorithm It is an algorithm that detects the motion in successive

image sequence.

One such algorithm is Blocking Matching algorithm.

It is a way of locating matching blocks in a sequence ofdigital video frames for the purposes of motionestimation.

It divides the images in equally sized blocks to find thebest matching block in a reference picture for all blocks ofthe current image as shown fig1.

It determines where the block of the image will bepositioned in the next image.

Edge Detection and

tracking(contd) Edge Detection and Tracking is used for 3D-

Tracking algorithms.

In the first step the edges are extracted from theimage. This is possible through either folding theimage with an appropriate Edge Detection matrixas shown in fig 2.

The detected edges can then be tracked

throughout the image sequence.

controller which is able to sense bothrotational orientation and translational

acceleration along three-dimensional axes. It achieves this through the use of inbuilt

accelerometers, together with a light sensor.

targeted for sport users.
